We are going to miss the defensive hustle and grit of Alex Caruso. However, with Josh Giddey, we get 9 years younger, 3 inches taller, not that bad of a defensive player, and a little better of an offensive player overall. Giddey will be better in Chicago than he was in OKC because there is no more SGA. Plus, remember, at 30 years old, Caruso was starting to accumulate a few injuries as well.

This may go down to being one of the best deals the Bulls could get for the talent. Yes, he's not a great defender but he is still young at 21 and 6'8 and has a good bb iq. This will definitely keep the Bulls offense moving and if Zo returns, this Bulls team will be scary from the ball movement aspect. And Giddey is only making $8 million next year.

Hate to see Caruso move on but the trade was long overdue for the Bulls to make. The team had reached its ceiling and the ceiling was so low a 4 ft midget would scrape his head on it. Although AK could've asked for a 2025 draft pick along with Giddey and got it, this reminds me of the OKC/Clippers trade when OKC traded Paul George for SGA. At face value, it seemed like the Clippers had the better deal, but it soon turned out PG13 couldn't stay on the court, and SGA rose to All Star status.

Simmons also made 3rd team all-nba and and 1st team all defense in his 3rd season, Giddey has accomplished literally nothing in the NBA. Giddey is D+ version of what Simmons was at the same point in his career, but they both got played off the floor in the 2nd round for the same reason - because they're non-shooters who play below the rim. Also similar in that their teammates obviously did not trust or want to pass to them in the playoffs and the coaches and every player on both teams knew it.

I like it honestly. I mean we all love Caruso and that’s never understated but people must really forget how injured we always have him playing. Even this year he wasn’t healthy despite paying 65 games. Damn near half his games he played hurt and not like a sprained ankle but like actually the man back is getting tore up to the point he’s icing it 24/7 on the bench. I know most all of us weren’t expecting giddey but like yall pointed out he’s young af. On top of that the trade ultimately points to the thing fans have been so loud about this offseason which was to break this shit up. I don't think the Bulls have any faith in White and Ayo leading the team. Why else would they make this move. This is a similar move when they brought in Zo. You wouldn't need Josh if they had faith in those 2 leading the way. Chicago has no faith in those 2 as the building blocks. I think they will give more lead way to build around Josh than those 2. Josh style is similar to Zo not Ayo or White. Neither one of them replaced Zo and the Bulls organization knows that. Where did all the talk go of White being the PG of the future after his close to most improve? If they play Josh at PG, I don't think it will work with Coby even as a SG. The back court defense will get burned. I don't think this combination will work which brings me to this.... I changed my thoughts on this. This is a tanking move for the Bulls similar to what the Spurs did when they got rid of Dejounte Murray. The Bulls have a top 10 protected from the Spurs in 2025. So this is a tank move. They are pulling the Spurs when they traded Dejounte Murray for Wemby draft. Great move for Cooper Flagg because this team is a tanking team that's why they traded Caruso. They don't want his defense keeping them afloat.

Caruso is a drastically better defensive player than ayo. From his stance to his ability to shed any and all screens. His quick hands. His ability to read passing lanes and he actually takes charges, ayo almost never does. Ayo is very good at guarding trae young due to the fact that his cross overs go no where and his long arms contest his pull up 3s effectively and he diesnt bite on simple moves like caruso did at times. Ayo is a good defender, but i just had to point out Caruso was built different. Ayo played as much as caruso and ge didnt nake an all defensive team.

They can put the ball on the floor and block shots. Giddey has been playing small forward for the OKC not PG although he's capable. But a PG needs to shoot. So this tells me he is on this team for other plans. Some other moves about to happen. I like Josh's game though. I'm surprised the Bulls didn't get any picks. A straight up trade makes no sense. The Bulls are definitely serious about speeding up the game with ball movement. That's ISO game doesn't work. I hate to see Caruso go though and for so little. But down the road, this may be seen as a steal for the Bulls.

I changed my thoughts on this. This is a tanking move similar to what the Spurs did when they got rid of Dejounte Murray. The Bulls have a top 10 protected from the Spurs in 2025. So this is a tank move. They are pulling the Spurs when they traded Dejounte Murray for Wemby draft. Great move because this team is a tanking team that's why they traded Caruso. They don't want his defense keeping them afloat.
