They also discuss how the Oklahoma City Thunder swindled the Chicago Bulls by trading Josh Giddey for Alex Caruso before previewing how a number of contenders should approach this NBA Draft. Finally, they dive into why Michael Jordan’s 1988 “stocks” numbers being inflated really doesn’t matter.

I agree the hire is important, but Rob Pelinka needs to kill this offseason. Also it has been reported by shams, Woj, or anyone connected to the Lakers that LeBron has been hands off, so I think you guys are making up the LeBron wanting JJ narrative in your heads.

My biggest concern just like yours is JJ’s game management. Any first timer will struggle with that. Having said it, the bar was set so LOW by Darvin “pockets” Ham. This guy literally lost the lakers games in the regular season and definitely contributed to one loss in the playoffs just due to poor game management. The GM 2 no challenge on the Murray foul was vomit inducing. Let’s pile on. Ham didn’t even know who his best players were, what were the correct rotations, how to play defense and how to adjust in game. The margins were razor thin that if the lakers simply won 5 more games it would have changed their playoff bracket. Again Ham set the bar so low and lost the locker room in January that Reddit simply being mid while having the locker room may be enough for them to improve. That’s really not asking much in comparison

why are yall acting like darvin wasn’t the reason we lost to the nuggets. yes our players underperformed but he consistently failed to call a timeout when the nuggets would go on a run but would call one when we would. i mean he literally ignored ad in the 4th in each game

Two things: 1) The Denver series was winnable. All the games were close. 2 of the loses ere lost by 2 points, 1 loss by 6 and one loss by 11. Los Angeles led the series for over 150 minutes compared to just 50 minutes for the Nuggets. That is on coaching - idiotic lineups and worse in game rotations,, and complete lack of game management. It's silly to think that a better coach couldn't have won that series, when you led for the overswhelming percentage of the time. 2) To speculate that command of the locker room is somehow MORE troublesome for JJ and use Lebron as one of the reasons is absurd. Redick has LeBron's backing. JJ had zero trouble questioning/challenging not only LeBron but other basketball greats on his show. ONE of the key reasons Redick slayed his interviews is his aura/charisma/persona. It was reported that he was able to command and inspire everyone. Also, LeBron would not do a podcast WITH JJ if he didnt respect him, he wasn't a guest, he was a co-host. Redick also immediately talked to AD the Monday after his interview and had a lengthy discussion. Before even officially being announced he was already building rapport,, planning and putting in the work. Reaves agent had already been tweeting about how Austin will be unlocked... You know they've already communicated. The risk is the lack of experience. He will have no problems one on one, how will he be with team dynamics? In-game how will he be. I think long term vision and keeping everyone on course is a question mark. it appears anything he can plan for and analyze won't be an issue. But I am optimistic Redick can rise the challenges. He seems to be the type that thrives in them.

is this how lakers fans wipe their tears to the fact that their team is in a constant loop of mediocrity? fans get someone to blame > hire a new coach/sign a new player (possible escape goat in the future) > still mediocre > then back to start again. lol lakers been doin this for the past 4 years

@@johnmichaelavila5631 What a clueless response. EVERY team that did not win, throughout NBA history has done everything that you brought into question. To NOT look at what went wrong, and make the necessary changes is essentially just running it back, doing the exact same thing and expecting different results. Forget the NBA, havent you ever heard the expression "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"

@@johnmichaelavila5631 "...hire a new coach/sign a new player"... Why do you think so trades happen during offseason, AND Midseason! AND by the way, Celtics, the current champs hav had 3 coaches in the last 5 yrs.

@@MBeano you bring my celtics into this, well in fact even if they have 3 coaches in 5 years each of those years they are always deep in the playoffs and have always been a contender every year. While your poopy lakers has been dick riding all of lebron’s demands while blaming the coach for everything that your sorry ass front office does. Not to mention lakers fans are the worst lol.

"taking smart time-outs" . JJ will be much better than Darvin Ham on that. Guaranteed!
@wolffofcinema3448
@wolffofcinema3448 Ай бұрын
How can you guarantee that? It’s easy to armchair quarterback that kind of thing and JJ’s only experience with that is little league girl’s basketball. We’ll see what he does in the heat of battle. I hope you’re right for his sake, because his basketball credibility relies on it…

And I think OKC views Caruso as their Jrue Holiday get. NOW to see if they can get Lauri. Easily surpass Boston? Let's pump the brakes guys. Maybe in 2 years, not next. In terms of talent collection, perhaps. But raw talent, alone, doesn't win it, especially when your average starter is about 22.

Isn't it clear what the Bulls see? They think they're replacing Lonzo if he never comes back (whom they similarly saw as a star)... and running it back! So they can be...maybe sixth in the East! Hilarious. I'm viewing this from very, very afar, but it seems to me the Chicago brain trust 1) still overvalues the flawed stars they have and 2) believes a rebuild is unacceptable to their fanbase. Both seem problematic. But I'm VERY glad the Bulls will be bad for at least another 5-10 years.

Playing in the league for over a decade is irrelevant (apparently). He was one of the best 3 point shooters in history and went on a it of deep playoff runs with a lot of teams. Lack of coaching experience at all is concerning but people writing him off is crazy.
