Love it. I highly recommend Amira's Gesu Bambino - just her voice her dad on organ in an empty church, recorded on a phone when she was visiting her dad over Christmas last year.. Beautiful..

This is from her streamed lock down concert This is my dream. It's the only one she has posted from the show, which is a shame, as there are a lot of beautiful songs on the dvd. It amazes me when I hear her rattle through this that she doesn't speak Italian. She seems to gabble away so fluently. The lyrics are a deathbed love letter from Caruso to his wife, recalling their lives together, so it should be sung by a man. Same with Nessun Dorma, it's a male opera part. But Amira delivers it so well I won't quibble. She was 16 when she sang that, she is 19 now. Earlier this year she released a video of her singing Gesu Bambino, with her father playing an organ as accompaniment. It is so beautiful, you really ought to give it a listen. As you can tell from the title, it's sung in Italian too. Best wishes.

Welcome back, guys! For your own entertainment you might like her more casual version. Wearing jeans and a jumper she walked into a South African music shop to buy a piano. She sung Caruso while the proprietor played. She bought the piano and also the Music Mouse picture being painted by his wife. It now hangs in her home.

Hello Mike & Ginger . Amira is most grown in this video but she is only 16 years old . Too much power for 16 years . Other important thing is that Amira can sing as opera as musicals . We watch her to sing Caruso or La vergine degli angeli , like also to sing I m so pretty ( from West side story ) or How does a moment last forever ( from Disney movie Beauty and the Beast ) The last songs of Amira : Gesu bambino , Song of the moon 2023 , Three songs Live in Belt ( Jerusalem , The Lords prayer and How great thou art ) and Memory ( from the musical Cats )

I've listened to both performances, and I completely DISagree with your comparison of Amira and Lara. I respect Lara. She is great in her own style and does have passion; however, Amira is the one who brings out the emotion for me. And, yes, I understand that music is subjective to tastes of each individual. So, I respect your opinion as well.

Nice and so so. Amira must still take care of her voice, the winds, the emotional pause, the interpretation. "Caruso" is a very difficult song to sing. Unmodulate high notes risk monotony because she is not yet able tu use the "speak and breath on the notes" ... but she has time enough tu study ... ☺😘
