Only 11 years old. She had had some coaching by then. She was taken in hand after her stupendous win on Holland's got talent aged 9. The innate skill shines through, and I think she was getting a lot of help from the angels too. Love this performance. One of the most mind boggling things on you tube.

I was there. Amira sang this amazing song at 2 meters from me. I can tell you, the sound pierced my heart and soul, my jaw was on the floor and my eyes looked like swimming pools. I felt a huge pressure on my chest and was totaly stunned. MY GOD, her voice power is out of this world AMAZING and UNIQUE. Amira is a musical bright light and soul. Hi Alan from Australia. Amira has had some wonderful performances since Holland's Got Talent in October 2013 and I particularly like her early ones of which this is one. I simply cannot argue with you on her performance here at Canisius Church Nijmegen, Netherlands in Dec 2015 at the tender age of 11 years. She is simply wonderful. Sorry to be political but I truly worry about her and her family presently living in Potchefstroom, South Africa inasmuch as the country has a high Covid-19 infection rate plus an extremely high crime rate (55 murders a day I understand). I just pray she has adequate security but would really wish she and her family would switch to either Australia or New Zealand. Both being islands nations the risks on Covid 19 and crime are very much lower.

She's not Catholic, Dutch Reformed, unless someone knows for sure. She does sing a lot of Catholic classics like this version (Gomez) and often performs in Catholic churches like this one - great acoustics, even though not a pro recording.

Thanks Mike & Ginger for reacting to this beautiful rendition & sung by what thousands, if not millions, of fans believe to be, not only a prodigy, but one of the best Soprano singers of all time. Apart from the power & pitch perfect voice control, Amira has a vibrato that many singers take years to perfect, & regardless of what range she is in, she does so effortlessly & is never out of breath. I hope you have seen her Holland's Got Talent audition. She did get voice instruction during the contest and after winning, but her audition was sung with no prior training. It was awesome.

The first time I watched this video I was taken by complete surprise! I have never seen anyone so young with a voice so fantastic and who was completely concentrating on what she was doing. She is so incredible. And FYI, the woman on her left is her mother and the young person playing the violin is her brother. Just in case you didn't know. (0;)

In the red scarf, to her left, playing the recorder, her mother Frieda. Playing the violin, to Frieda's left, Amira's brother, Fincent (English is Vincent.) The song is, of course, Gomez' version of Ave Maria. Listening to that tiny little body produce such a big, clear, perfect pitch is always such an amazing experience. I am old enough to be her great-grandfather, and only lately have we begun to hear any child that young begin to approach her talent at that age. And you can bet these new little singers would never have even tried, without her inspiration.

The "older men in the background" is the Royal Men's Choir of Nijmegen". She is singing in her home church, or it was as the was singing this song. Now, at the age of seventeen, she lives in Ponchestroon, (sp?), South Africa, and is, of course, world famous.

Talk about stunned There is a piece of O Holy Night when she was 10. In the comments was someone who was in the choir of the performance. She said during rehearsal there was this little girl with her stuffed turtle hanging around. She thought she was related to the conductor or staff. Then she found out she was the quest soloist. She said was just shocked the the hairs were standing up. If you do react to Oh Holy Night, do the one in 2015, for the better sound. She is beautiful in the other but it is a cell phone recording

She was 11 here, as with the other Ave Maria you reacted too. The violinist is her brother, woman in red is her mother, and the one playing the organ was her Father. This to me was an extremely beautiful performance. This one written by Gomez and is not that old. If you traced some of the comments in the original you find a comment by Robert Gomez ( the brother of the composer). He states he wrote it before his death, around 2000. He stated his brother would have enjoyed Amira's performance. Great reaction. Sorry I cannot monetize at this time due to health and uncertain financial future. What I can due is play and play again your reactions. Still looking for the Andre Rieu and Amira O Mio Babbino Caro.

Her mom, Frieda, wasn't at her musical best and the recorder isn't what she normally plays, but a violin. Evidently, she forgot her glasses so was having trouble reading the music; but with Amira, absolutely nothing will disrupt her singing, she is just so amazingly focused!
