I am a new subscriber thanks to this video. I've been trying to teach myself to carve faces because I make canes and I want to put faces on the handles. The trouble i am having is when carving, i try to go slow and easy and then the bit/burr will grab and go all over the place and mess up the carving. Any suggestions?

I assume that for smaller pieces of wood, one would prefer the medium or fine Kutzall extreme flame burr bit, correct?

It depends on how much material you want to remove not the size of the piece. Finer burrs take off less wood.
