Thank you, I think this is the most helpful focused and concise CAD/CAM modeling tutorial have ever watched. I've been trying to force Fusion 360 into this roll for a month. I bought Carveco Maker, worked through your tutorials and I'm heading out to the garage with good g-code today (I hope).

Thanks for the feedback, Roger! Glad to hear it's working out for you and hope your carving went well.

Nice video - thanks. I would have added tabs so the part didn’t come loose during the profile cut. Probably don’t need them if you are going to stick the material down to the bed with double sided tape of painters tape and super glue.

Your tuts are great and I appreciate them! But this tut has opened up and issue I have now with Carveco's 3 offerings. Time to already evaluate this software's options and costs before I get much farther in time spent learning it. Other than that, keep up the great work on well explained tuts.

I realize this video is a bit old but would like to know if any improvements have been made to make the text ROB etc follow what's left of the model ie along the curved contour of the finished door. I'm very new to this and just started. Your tutorials are a great help, thanks
@Carveco11 ай бұрын
Hi @incubatork, if you're talking about the text following the contour of the relief surface (in Z) you want to look into some of the Toolpath Transform operations - more specifically 'Project Toolpath'. This is a feature of Carveco Maker Plus. We've got an example in this video (about half-way through) kzbin.info/www/bejne/onjJeH2Ef9tnn5I that might be useful

Thank you for the great detailed information. Is the Import Dialog box no longer a function? I can not get it to come up in Ver. 1.24. Where is that functionality now?
@Carveco3 жыл бұрын
You are welcome Bob. Most likely it is off screen. Have you connected a second monitor at any time and moved it? If you open up Carveco, go to the Window dropdown and select "Reset Layout" and see if it comes back. If it is still not there, then go to the Window dropdown again and select "Reset Workspace."

I know this is an old video but we can't curve/blend the letters into the relief versus making a box? Trying to letter a curved aircraft tail with dates etc. don't want a box.
@Carveco5 ай бұрын
Hi, you can, put you would need to use Maker Plus in order to project the toolpaths down onto the relief. In Maker, you have to create a flat.

Awesome video. Helped me a lot. One thing that I notice when I mill a relief is that it will mill in one direction, usually X. This means that the sides of the 3D model will look unfinished on half of it. Is there any option on Carveco to do the finishing using X and Y paths combined? Thank you

Yes there is the option. Maybe if you read the help file or look at the toolpath settings and learn to use the software you may be surprised what it can do.

but how can i machining with 5D or 5 axis??? which software that car actually made by????
@alexandersievewright38422 жыл бұрын
I've been watching your tutorials for a week now which post processor would best fit my cnc it is a VEVOR 3040 4 axis cnc with a mach3 mainboard should I use mach3_4(MM)(*.TAP) or mach3_4-Arcs(MM)(*TAP) for the three axis and which for the 4th axis
@Carveco2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alexander. The 3_4 in the description means it is for 3 or 4 axis. Both of them should work. The difference is that mach3_4(MM)(*.TAP) outputs all line moves. The mach3_4-Arcs(MM)(*TAP) outputs arc circular motion as well as lines. If you have any trouble, please email support@carveco.com and they will be able to offer their expertise.

My Carveco Maker does NOT want to import any .obj file. Can you advise? Thanks.
@MNhockeydude355 жыл бұрын
make sure is is an .obj file and not a rar file labeled obj
@kevincomeau7937 Жыл бұрын
I'm trying to import the very same 3d model as in the tutorial and Carvco says it doesn't support the rar format
@Carveco Жыл бұрын
A .rar file is a zipped up file (basically a proprietary alternative to a .zip file). You need download a program called WinRAR and open the .rar file to access the model file in it. Then import the model file into Carveco.

Am I to understand that the only way to get text to look right on a curved surface is to get Maker +?

That is correct Blaine. You can either model it in Maker+ or project toolpaths onto it.

I must say that having to carve out that door to vcarve it is quite disappointing to say the least. Pretty sure Vcarve will carve those curve with zero problems and I intend to try it. This program is way to expensive to miss a detail like that. I'm also a little confused why you can not make a finish pass around the model to rid all the bit marks that is shown in 21:47 on those tires and above the fender.. That I hope is fixable.
@Carveco3 жыл бұрын
You are correct Todd, V-Carve will do that by projecting the toolpaths onto the model. But then again, this is a $15 a month product that you are comparing to a $700 product so I am unsure how this is "way too expensive." If you want to run a profile toolpath around the model afterwards then you can do that by all means.
@blainetrain22993 жыл бұрын
I spent a TON of time trying to find a model on that site that didn't look like crap. IMO just retype the address he uses and get the same car.

Hi Paul. We do offer a 14 day money back guarantee, where you can machine whatever you like during this time and the program is not locked down like a trial would be.
