¼ or a quarter through the video and i'm already cracking up hard (it's like 'can i call u tonight' by day glow all over again:')) cause i be thinking that in 3 months i'm gonna be 18, and i've never really experienced the things that's in this video. After graduating JHS (9th grd), my parents moved me to a boarding school (10th grd 1st year). i felt pissed cause they didn't even tell me about it, when i had plans of moving to another school. but i've always been a spontaneous and easy-to-adapt person so i thought, "fuck it. let's see where this goes, what do i have to lose?" and right in the first week of school (introduction around school + retreat as a bonding event), i've already got a lot of friends and would hang out with them everyday in class, break time, after school and even on weekends. i felt happy. but then big things happened, i was too focused on my boyfriend atm, friends and having fun i abandoned what's supposed to be my priority. we broke up cause he didn't like me having a lot of guy friends + he found out that i was bi & genderfluid (pan & enby now), he was possessive & we spent almost 24/7 together so eventually i drove apart from my friends too. after we broke up; him, his friends (who aren't mine) and he his one bitch who was one of my closest friend backstabbed me. spread lies, fake news and outed me. told everyone that i was bi, a lesbian, a cheap whore who likes to search for guys' attention (mind you, i was very masculine back then so that kinda didn't make sense and i was loyal. those guys were like my bros, diff than my ex.), that i tailed this bitch around everywhere she goes - stole her friends - used her like a social ladder (when she's actually the one who did it to me??? i had A LOT of friends, i know a lot of seniors. she had NO friends who even liked her at the start, and she asked me for help so i helped her cause i hv a kind heart and i pity her.) fucking ass bastards. So because of all that, i became completely alone. there was only about 5 friends who accompanied me sometimes though. she killed my confidence, the will to try to socialize, speak up and open up to ppl. from the person who always put their head up, greets & be greeted by almost everyone in the hallways, hung out with various groups of people anytime, always surrounded by friends around me- to the one who almost never says hi to ppl anymore unless greeted first, hugs their laptop while wearing a sweater everyday & looking down, cracking up whenever someone says "are you okay"?, barely got out of the dorm room & hang out with ppl and always walks alone everywhere. sad, huh? And then i tried to accept the reality, to look at the "bright" side this impact has brought me, that she basically made all the fake people out of my life so only the real ones stay. i tried to accept that "it's okay to be alone, you shouldn't feel down about it." and i don't want to be sad & broken anymore so i just tried to do lots of reflection, write my feelings out in poetry, spend lots of time listening to indie (folk & pop, bedpop) and jazzy lo-fi, hanging out by myself a lot at the cafe doing assignments (to be productive + to get away from ppl and "myself"). Basically trying to "peace" the sadness away. my personality turned from ENFP to ESFP (the laid-back, intolerant to fake ppl one), melancholic to phlegmatic, and i've felt the comfort of being alone.
