Jeep would fall apart if pushed as hard as the G wagon off-road. It's matching G in this video because G is on low profile road tires and the Jeep has proper off road tires. Put the same off road tires onto the G, and it will do things the Jeep can't. People don't REALLY understand how tough G-wagons are. Go watch Shmee150's video from Austria to see them driven on off-road courses that would completely destroy the Jeep, and the G wagon doesn't break a sweat. Enough for structural reinforcements every which way, armour plating, line it with ballistic nylon, then swap in an LS and boost it to power the thing. You want tech? No worries, there's STILL enough left over to pack the thing with MacBooks, sat phones, night vision, FLIR cams, and a lifetime of mobile data! @@Mijanboy You realize one can put an ARB locking diff into a Jimny for less than the price of a scratched rim or body panel on that Benz? Even over here in Tirol, hardly the cheapest place on earth to get your car fixed, they're €1.3k per axis plus labor, which you being the experienced off-road racing champion would of course do that yourself on a friday afternoon I take it - and I mean, which actual offroading vehicle is not modified according to the owner's needs? Now honestly, what does that remind you of: The Jimny is a small offroad vehicle, cheap and simple to make and repair, small overhang, practical to use and clean, and comparatively low power - that's LITERALLY the exact same concept as all the other offroading classics represented when the first made a name for themselves, but which have by now gotten fat, large, and comfort-oriented along with their aging customer base - from Jeep to Landrover to Landcruiser to Mercedes G - that's the formula for a functional offroader that actually gets taken to places, not by putting big V8 engines and blingy leather in and selling them for 150k+. I'd put it like that: The chances of a Jimny getting stuck on a wintery alpine trail over here are slimmer than the chances of a G-Klasse getting stuck AND getting pulled out by a Jimny which happened to pass by.

And also it has the smallest engine available for jeeps. 2.0 liter turbo if it was the 3.6 v6 or 3.0 diesel no problem for the jeep.

The Jeep also had off road tyres unlike the Mercedes or Suzuki.

Sad demonstration on the hill. Ruined the test. Proved it was a sham.

1991 Geo Tracker owner here. Considering the Jimmy had almost touring tires it got her done. And Since I could probably buy two of them for the price of either the Jeep or the Benz, I can have a spare in the garage that I keep clean for going to church on Sundays! I KNOW my Tracker (totally stock except for AT-2 Grabber tires) can go places the Jeeps are too big and fat to maneuver around! Been there, done that, much to the consternation of some Wrangler guys!

I feel like he didn’t give the Jeep enough speed up the hill at the last challenge like he did the other 2. So I believe the Jeep won that test.

Yeah, he just pinned the throttle on the other two, but not the Jeep.

Yep the Jeep definitely is capable of up hill climb. It's honestly the most basic thing that an off roader should be capable of, so I don't see it failing.
@siraff44615 жыл бұрын
@@craterinahole He pinned the throttle on the Jeep too. It just took a lot longer for it's auto box and turbo to wake up. Listen again and you can hear it taking ages to spool the turbo then it goes.

Si Raff yeah but he eased into it at first and then pinned it on the hill. Should’ve pinned in the beginning to give it the momentum needed.

Le Chat Botté Sorry. I still haven't researched much on the Jeep's history so I just assumed that the G was older. To be honest though, we still have the original Jeeps here in the Philippines. They were converted into the famous Philippine Jeepney.
