The huge torque from diesels is why they have such excellent towing capability and the roll on acceleration without changing gear etc. I do think the BMW here has a significant torque advantage which it can't translate to acceleration perhaps due to gearing, additional slow gear changes because of limited revs etc.

Great race! The Macan is FAST. Also, keep in mind that the Model Y they used wasn't the fastest of Tesla's lineup. That's a Model Y long range, look at the wheels. The long range is the only model that comes with the acceleration boost option. The performance is faster from the factory. Acceleration boost lowers the 0-60 for the LR from 4.8 to 4.2 seconds. The performance model goes 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.

They didn't completely phase out cobalt batteries until the new year...you know, when it's cold and milk floats litter the sides of motorways because their owners believed the manufacturers quoted range

Should have remapped the Porsche and BMW when doing the software upgrade on the Tesla... Doubt that would have cost anywhere near £1500 however, more like £500 and it would have had a similar result. Fun race though and 'trick' was a laugh.

I think it's a bit different because the Tesla upgrade is still official and under warranty. Both of the other cars will void the warranty with tuning. Do want to see the other cars tuned tho.

As much as I wanna see what a tuned Porsche and BMW can do, it's a completely different thing compared to getting a software upgrade for the Tesla. The upgrade is a factory option from Tesla, similar to getting a Sport Chrono package for Porsche. Tuning on the other hand is an after market option that will void your warranty.

There is no factory re-map for a Porsche! Tesla lets you buy the car you want, then allows you to upgrade the speed when and if you're capable of handling it. It's brilliant. If you want to talk aftermarket solutions, you can also remap the Tesla motors to Performance output the tuners call "Ghost".
