omg i loved this reaction! especially the “it’s happed before? this isn’t the first time??” i genuinely laughed out loud. you should definitely do more reactions with dean and cas. also long story short they do act like they’re married a lot. castiel actually confesses his feelings for dean at the end of the show (and dies lol) but we don’t get to find out if dean feels the same or not, they left it “up to interpretation”. but if you ask me and a lot of people, he does (there are some haters out there tho and they’ll be hell bent on saying that that’s not true or even saying that castiel’s confession was platonic which makes no sense in the context but they won’t accept it for some reason)

So basically, by the end Castiel confessed his love for Dean and that was his true happiness. Then he sacrificed himself to save Dean giving him absolutely no time to react, much less reciprocate and then they just never mentioned it again. Then Dean dies anyways like a week later and it's revealed that Cas is alive in heaven. But they're not seen reuinitng, it's just implied that they do reunite. The ending sucked, even though they made Dean and Cas canon, it was done in the most homophobic way possible, pretty much everyone hates the ending (not just for them but they undid like 15 years of character development and pressed undo to all the relevant themes in the show). The confession scene was really profound and brilliantly acted. The actors and writers really struggled to get the gay love confession greenlit and finally won but CW being very homophobic, just refused to acknowledge it later on lol.

For most of their time in this show they were painted by the network and the show runners as just friends. Cas is an angel, so early on most of it is just him being awkward because he’s never been around humans this much. Throughout the show though fans speculated that there could be something more to their relationship due to the obvious subtext that their little moments were laced with. As the seasons went by this subtext got less subtle and it seemed that they were hyper aware of the type of idea they were putting in fans heads about the nature of their dynamic and they ran with it a lot of times. They never actually confirmed that either of them had feelings for each other or that either of them were queer until the end of the show. It was always just a ship among the fans and most people including the writers and producers used it as a joke which they considered acceptable because they weren’t actually ever cannon. The third to last episode though, Cas- the angel, ended up confessing his love for Dean, but we will still never know if Dean ever felt the same or if they meant for him to have any sort of returning feelings to compliment that sentiment. I hope this kind of gives you an idea of why things are the way they are with this show. I still strongly recommend this show if you haven’t started it. It’s long, and it takes commitment to get through all 15 seasons but I guarantee that it will be worth it. Just from these reactions I can tell you enjoy these characters. These moments are even funnier with context, trust me😄

its canon/confirmed that cas loves dean romantically. fans are 100% sure that dean loves cas back, but its never been confirmed in the show. they just never were in a relationship cuz the writers are stupid. the actors (especially the actor that plays cas) tho ships dean and cas and always talks about their love for each other and how he’s glad they got at least a love confession scene before the show ended. :)

It is canon and said in the show that Cas loves Dean in a romantic way It is not shown in the show but the actors of Cas and Dean and the writer of the show confirmed that Dean loves him that way too

Not exactly, but that's okay. And Dean's feelings are implicit and it becomes almost text in episode 15X19 when Lucifer tries to enter using Cas' voice. Lucifer, the guy who always uses the face of deads romantic partners to get in...

When dean was in hell cas was the one to save him and like “rebuild” or something his soul. And when they first meet Sam was kinda going demonic and was an “abomination” . Dean and cas worked together more at first so they got closer sinner and dean kind of helped cas understand humans and cas started questioning heaven and their orders because of dean. I’d also like to point out that cas was only supposed to be in a few episodes and Anna was gonna replace him and dean and Anna canonally kissed and stuffed. so pretty much the female version of what was supposed to be cas would have had a relationship with dean

The two of them are best friends, but it was confirmed that Cas was in love with Dean all along. Most of us SPN fans believe Dean loved him back but I guess we'll never know... 🤧
