I was a casa kid and my casa worker is like my second mom to me. She has know me since I was 8 years old and I'm a now 26 years old. Now I may have just gotten lucky, but like everything else they can only do so much.

People are talking about the mother being a victim, and she is. However; our duties are to be for the child. If the mother is in an abusive relationship, then so is the child. Sometimes the best place for the child is not in their home. It sucks, but it's life. If the mother feels that her man being around her children is more important than her children's safety, then that's a problem. Again, we are looking out for the children, and that includes their surroundings. On top of that, in this case, she lied and said it was a one time occurrence. It wasn't. When he attacks the mother again, and one of her children comes to her aid, what do you think is going to happen?

They are a big Lie and not safe place for children they place kids in homes with DOGS and my 2 year old step grande kids had fleas they them placed them in a understaffed group homes been told by Federal Judge to fix the problem still dont even care and these brain washed people do not even know about how it is driven by Federal MONEY they are not the Friend of God or a Family.. They hid by behind the few good things they do not the kids that Die under there care......

Court Ordered Protective Supervision. It allows the child to remain home with conditions for the parent. In this case it sounds like counseling, FCCS orders, paired with a (stay away) order for the abusive boyfriend.

because the mother is a victim is why she is unable to defend the child. i mean look, she was still going to continue seeing the boyfriend supposedly based on financial reasons which was untrue, putting her kids, back in danger. according to CASA volunteer family are willing to help...she needs alot of psychiatric help. CASA volunteer did an excellent evaluation and very good decision overall

Why would court appoint casa if an attorney has casas testimony thrown out??????? Why would the judge allowe it to be thrown out sence hes the one that appointed them??? Makes no dam sence. Also was a casa worker who was very unprofessional never did check on a report of a safty issue of a child not being properly restrained in a carseat. An get this. Was ok with a so called father seeing his child even tho he caused the death of his first child 2mth old baby his rights was terminated due to him pleading quilty to MANDLAUGHTER. but thought it was ok if he saw the other child. Also it was reported that the said worker goes for the under dogs. Under dogs are those who dont stand a chance.

Wait, this isn't right. The mother was beaten, that doesn't mean you take the child away and force the mother through a service plan. She's a victim of domestic violence. The man is a danger to the children, not her. Why is she being prosecuted and her child put through the system? That's not right.

+renzokata because in some cases the mother does not call the authority and that could be considered unfit if she keeps allowing it to go on.

In the court system, it is "failure to protect". One parent may not be abusing or neglecting the child(ren), but they are basically considered an enabler for allowing it to happen. Because they didn't call authorities or remove the children to a safe place. This is a tough call, because often the parent hasn't done so for fear of retaliation from the other parent, or because they are an abuse victim themselves. In most of these cases, the non-abuser must show that they are a safe placement and are able to keep the child safe by having a plan for if the abuser comes around. They also give the non-abuser services to help with the psychological aspect of being a victim... they try to get them into victim programs so that they can get the mental health services they need to recover from the abuse they've sustained. It really isn't trying to place blame on the victim parent, it is about keeping the child safe, and sometimes that means that they aren't safe with someone who doesn't have the emotional stability to stand up to their own abuser yet. Generally, as soon as the non-abuser shows that they have a plan to keep the children safe in their care, the children are returned as quickly as possible.

As one who works with the system, in most cases the mother will be offered the child and protection HOWEVER they have to agree to no contact between the children and the abuser. Meaning, they have to leave the sig. other. Most chose not to.

@@kendravotava8723 yep. my uncle allowes his wife to abuse his son. Calling CPS on them as soon as I get an address. She's sick pshyco can cry on que, hope they don't fall for it. Monster, kicks her 5 y/o son, hits him, threatens to kill him if he doesnt shut up. I hope she fucking dies! Gotta save my little cousins

They are not prosecuting her. They pretty much put it on the table that it’s her responsibility to leave the abusive situation in order for her to get her kids back, because that’s what’s best for them. They made a way for her to be able to do that, but it has nothing to do with her..it’s about the kids.

A Guardian ad Litem is a one person jury and hearsay collector that is given too much credence in family court. This program needs to be reformed or dismantled.

As there are many reports of Guardians ad Litem making false statements it is very important to record all conversations with them (where it is legal) and have a witness present as a safeguard in case the Guardian ad Litem gives false testimony. I have personally witnessed a GAL falsely attribute statements to me. Remember that GALs are not trained well enough to conduct rigorous investigations, they lack oversight, and an undue amount of importance is given to their recommendations by the court. I wish the best of luck to parents and children who risk being victimized by the unreliable GAL / CASA program.
