Only just spotted this video,which was an eye opener in your use of pumice blocks.Brilliant idea.I would like to ask,did they break down or degrade over time causing any damage to your filter, would to use it in my own filters,any feedback would be great Cheers in advance great Video

nope.... Im not a science guy...I just do as the experts tell us all to do,. Im just able to report that the last time I cleaned my filter everything was in 'mint" condition...

Thanks for Sharing the video and the reply.Will definitely be using the same pumice bricks.im always on the lookout for a good alternative to the more expensive Bio Media that's out there especially when I need a lot of it.Hobbie is getting very expensive.the brick's look like they would hold just as much good bacteria (if not more)as more expensive media.i hope a lot more people see your channel.Cheers All the best from Ireland.

dont plug edges with floss unless you want a blown seal.penn plax advises not to do this due to seal and pump failures.

Yes don't plug anything. You want the water to flow through all filter material

So far.. 7 out of 10 It works. Thats all youcan ask of it. However i got mine a long time ago so i do not know what things are on the market now?
