After the park closed and the rides were all shut down.. One of the rows of cars were left on the tracks.. My friends and i used to climb out to them and sit in them.. Played on most all the rides after they were shut down.. Uses to push the merry go round so that my sister and her friends could ride on the horses and the swan.. That park is engrained in my being..it was my own personal playground growing up.. From the broken down rides to the broken down dam..it was my sanctuary.

Ive never seen a coaster that wasnt abandond with so much growth arround it. Such a beautiful ride. Wish more people saw coasters as works of art like i do. Less than 200 wood coasters left in the world. Lost 3 century old woodies recently. Geauga lake big dipper, coneaut lake blue streak, williams grove cyclone, and tons of more modern woodies like colosous at magic mountain and mean streak at cedar point. I get mean streak wasnt the most thrilling bit that massive structure of wood and the creeking of the track made the ride feel dangerous which added extra excitment. Steel vengance is great dont get me wrong bit i dont feek scared riding it like i did when it was mean streak.

This was my first coaster, and ive ridden the Phoenix at Knoebel's and it wins the award for best wooden coaster every year. But id still say the Comet was the best wooden Ive ever been on. The ravine and the trees just gave it the perfect setting

Wow!!! This had to be the coolest rollercoaster ever!!! I’ve been their and seen what it all looks like now , but man what I wouldn’t give to go back in time , to this park in its heyday. Thank you for posting this video 🙂

Talk about low hanging fruit! I thought the only tree hitting happened on RCT or Planet coaster games. Must have been a heck of a wild ride.

I remember going in the little Cottage under the coaster station!! It' was so neat!!!

That last drop must have had some insane ejector in the back seat. Not only is it steep but look how quickly it gets to that slope

A tree fell on the track and the damage was to expensive to remain, shutting the coaster down

....unforgetable coaster - not from the point of view of dynamics but, instead, of its total uniqueness

.....Marvelous vid capturing, in totality, that very uniqueness and 'feel' for the eccentric cascade park, pennsylvania!

When was the wooden coaster removed I have seen videos of the Ravine with the concrete Footers of what's left
@johncolaiacovo27822 жыл бұрын
Around the early 1980s. I grew up a few miles from the park and remembered some rides left in the early 80s, but by the mid to late 80s they were gone.
@nathanlopez56672 жыл бұрын
@@johncolaiacovo2782 very interesting was the coaster in bad shape before it was removed?
@urbex_coasters Жыл бұрын
@@nathanlopez5667 Apparently a tree fell on it. This was after the park lost its lake, which was its main draw for non-coaster enthusiasts. I've been down in the revine, the bridges are still there and I have a piece of the NAD trains in my posession, which I found down there.

@@urbex_coasters it's too bad some of the best coasters out there no longer exist looks like this could have been a really great coaster

@@nathanlopez5667 This, Puritas Springs Cyclone, Idora Wildcat, the original Revine Flyer, Conneaut Blue Streak. Just that region of northwest PA and northeast Ohio looks to have had a lot of great coasters from that era. I'm so angry to have just lost the survivor (and the only one that lasted long enough for me to get to ride)

How many roller coasters have you ridden? It seems like you’ve ridden a lot of rare credits.
@bobhooley9003 жыл бұрын
I only count wood coasters as I often don't pay attention to various smaller steel coasters. I've been on about 160 wood coasters.

Do you have a footage of Wild Mouse coasters?
@bobhooley9003 жыл бұрын
I have a bunch of super 8 films that haven't been converted yet, so it's possible. I do, in fact, have brief footage of the wooden tracked Wild Mouse at Crystal Beach in Ontario, Canada.
