One of Australia's scariest chapters. I've put off listening to this one bc it creeps me out but I'm finally running out of Case File podcasts to listen to so here I am. Eeeek!!

I'm from Adelaide and live in Alice Springs and that family that got in the camper van and traveled to try to find the German tourist breaks my heart. When you travel though Australia via car it dawns on you how huge and isolated the bush/desert really is. As they traveled they must have realized how vast and dangerous the open land really is. From Alice Springs in the centre of Australia its a 16 hour drive either way, to Darwin or Adelaide. In such a large desolate trip, hopelessness must have really set in. When you truly think of how huge this place is you realize there are part of Australia no one, not even the Aboriginal Peoples would have set foot in due to the rugged terrain, and heat of the empty desert and shear size of the country. It must have been torture for them during those long hours spent wondering about all the possibilities as they drove endlessly through the nothingness. Absolutely terrifying to think about :(

I used to watch the Outback Truckers show and you are so correct. The outback is so vast and desolate with a lot of unpaved roads. It would be easy for a killer to get away with all kinds of horrible crimes. It's a lot like the western part of the U.S.

Excellent series as usual from Casefile. Thanks to the many kind Australians that give rides to these young travelers and turn in found items, that ended up being so important.

I had to put this into my Texan context for distance. Straight line miles from North to the extreme Southern border is about 990 miles. From East to West about 773. While not as desolate ( in most areas) as described in Australia, if you see signs warning you to fill up, you better by gosh do it, and if you are in far West Texas, best stay on the interstate and state highways. People get lost and turned around “ exploring “ in the desolate areas and cell phone service might not be good. Never underestimate the deserts. Keep your tank full, keep actual maps and a couple of gallons of water. Have loved the Casefile pop cast since the beginning. Glad to see it on KZbin!

It's dangerous enough to hitchike in your own country but to go to a foreign country where you don't know anyone or even speak the language is foolish to say the least. In the U.S. the Interstate highway lessened the practice but people still do it.

Why did the clairvoyant admit that the Anya 'suffered terribly'? Even if the clairvoyant truly believed that and felt it was necessary for the family to know the couple had passed away, it would be much kinder to say 'it was very quick for both of them and neither suffered' ..Just seems like that would be a kinder thing to say if you have to say anything at all :c

Gosh Australia is SO soft. How do they handle it?! "Oh, I'm weak, coddle me, whaa whaa!" ffs... I just listened to the backpackers lost in Croatia and the Australians were upset (P!SSED!!!) that the Croatian police were feckless and possibly corrupt, and in this episode the exact same thing is happening to other people's kids in Australia, and the Australians are like, "hey, sht happens." I always thought Auzzies were tough, but man I'm learning different. Excellent shows by the way. My comments have nothing to do with the presentation, I'm really enjoying your channel buddy.

this is a plea for help getting 'Casefiles' WITHOUT ADS. I really, really, REALLY hate ads. I tried but, I'm a dinosaur. I'm back to KZbin because it's preferable to what I got..!!! what I got has MORE ads..!!! and instead of your narrator's calm voice, it's bad actors reading them. AND the ads are louder than the episodes. not good. any suggestions?

I think ads help the creators actually get some money for all their effort and hard work It’s not really a terrible trial to turn your mind off for a minute is it?? As you say, the podcast is pretty near perfect so I am very grateful to be able to listen while the people who entertain me get some revenue ….
