My farmer neighbor has a Case 2090. I think he bought it new. It's still his "heavy" go-to tractor. His light duty tractor is a Case IH CX90 open station.

I bought a 2290 in 2009 at an auction, still using it. Bale with it mostly, it is one of the standard shifts. Thanks for the video.

I have never driven one that was not a power shift, but everyone who owns one seems to like them! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the look at the brochure. We had a 2090, purchased new in 1982. It was the main tractor for many years. Lots of memories with it, until it sadly burned up last fall. Had about 10 300 hours.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your 2090. 10,000 hours is a lot of seat time for somebody... a lot of time to maybe get attached to a machine... Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it!

@@LegendaryTractors Yep, those are the tractors! I’d wanna hear your opinion of them, I love that series to death!

504 engine was one of the best tractor engines from that era. Flip up hood was a serious improvement, as was flip out battery tray. Overall great machines.

My husband’s uncles bought a 2290 in the fall of 1981 used it for chisel plowing, it stopped dead in the field. The dealer had to drag it on the semi trailer, brought out a 2390 to use while they fixed the 2290. The 2390 stayed on the farm and the 2290 never came back. Transmission issue. They still have the 2390 today.

I hope to do a video in the future on the 2390. Thanks for sharing and for watching!

Worked for Case for 13 years.....they were one of easiest to work on.... the only way you could kill that engine....504..overheat...run out of oil.... excellent engine..... also worked 30 ... for CAT.....
@LegendaryTractors5 күн бұрын
Overheating and running out of oil is never really a good thing for pretty much most engines, but I agree... 504 was really good! Thanks for watching!

The problem with that transmission, you can only use 2 out 3 power shift, because the 3 gear was to fast. / case had a great motor 👨🌾
@LegendaryTractors6 күн бұрын
I never really experienced that, but we all use tractors in different ways. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and watching the channel!

Case cabs aren't bad. 86 & 88 series IH cabs are horrible
@LegendaryTractors6 күн бұрын
The made it a little better with the 88 series by moving the shift lever over to the right side, but the doors going backwards was definitely a deal breaker for a lot of people. Thanks for watching!

Case was ahead of John Deere on cabs. Case had a decent cab before they came out with sound guard in JD

I think that they all had their pluses and minuses. Thanks for watching!
