I own the exact same backhoe, that's the front bucket leveling cylinder. It changes the amount of fluid in the bucket cylinders to keep the bucket at it's current position as you raise the bucket.

I had a 68 580CK... had to rebuild about 7 of the cylinders! They all sucked! LOL... thanks Beau....

thanks for watching, i've seen lots of crazy things happen with cylinders. usually the chrome can come off from age, oxidation, or just could be manufactures defect. you can have the cylinders fixed by most local hydraulic shops.

Beau - have you rebuilt one of the outriggers yet? I just returned from the hydraulic shop that wanted to charge me $1065 to rebuild my left side outrigger...I'm stumped as to how they came to that "price". Do you have a video of you rebuilding one of these. Sure would appreciate some help and advice. Ron in Reno!

Badass channel. Good video. I got a leaking cylinder on my Kubota front end loader but when I looked at it the chrome is flaking off/pitted all over the rod. The fluid leaks past the wiper even when the loader is stored. Have you seen the chrome just come off? What would cause that?

I know this is probably too late for the original askers but I've v been looking for the same answer and finally found a schematic... so for future searchers, there's a roll pin on the back side of the upper bracket that holds the pivot pin in.

Beau, I'm looking at a 580ck that won't start is there an easy way to tell if the cylinders are not fucked? Compression test? if so how?
@richochett4043 жыл бұрын
You have to remove the injectors and get your reading from the same hole for each cylinder.you need a compression gauge for diesel engines and an adapter the same threads as your injector.
