Wish I’d seen this a couple of days ago! Great video. I too got this extra washer/seal (the white one) which confuses the hell outta me as the ones I took out had this under the dust seal. Did you just throw that away ?

Did you use the white round washer/seal anywhere?
@rickfinzel6 жыл бұрын
sure seemed like the gland nut slid over the rod awful easy usually they are just a bit more snug after its repacked or atleast any of the ones on my case i rebuilt were tighter then that to get on but mine are also a bit different maybe thats why

Well it has been about 9 months and the outriggers are still not leaking. However I guess you are correct, I did most of the cylinders on the tractor. I did not use Case seals and some of the other seals are seeping a little. Nothing like they were but nonetheless it was a lot of work to have them leak so soon.

At 732 its called a wiper.perhaps you put that in backwards.this stops sippage.
@super69545 жыл бұрын
@@danielyowell6860 some call it the wiper some call it a scraper seal, usually if you got to much oil coming past that wiper you have a problem with the seals in the gland the wiper/scraper isn't technically holding oil pressure in the cylinder. from what I see he has it fitted the right way to stop dirt going back in when the rod retracts.

Mine was heaps tighter. Had to bash About 100 times with a block of wood and hammer!

Did u have a extra plastic washer
@hillbillystyle3 жыл бұрын
Honestly I can’t remember. Sometimes the kits come with extra parts as they are used on different cylinders as well, so if you ended up with an extra and you installed all of the ones required in this video, it is possible you could have an extra.
@gregdunstan5683 жыл бұрын
I had the white washer left over too. The ones I took out had this washer under the white metal dust seal, but apparently it’s not necessary.
@gregdunstan5683 жыл бұрын
Also had an extra black plastic seal which you can still use at each end ie 4 rings instead of 3. The one that is rubber has to go 1 back from the centre ad each side like he’s done in video.

Why did you have to take it to a buddy's place to fasten the nut?
@super69545 жыл бұрын
Not everybody has a big socket set or impact wrench /torque wrench to undo and re torque those piston nuts/bolts. I've had some here were a real pig with 3/4 drive sockets and 6 ft of cheater pipe, even after heating them. some are at 600 ft lbs from what I understand.
@hillbillystyle3 жыл бұрын
I took them to a buddies because my large wrench is not good quality and it usually just rounds off the heads at that torque.

Don't do JB weld, fins a used cylinder and rebuild it, check around they are available.I wouldn't want JB in my pump and cutting the seals again,
@Smelltheboot5 жыл бұрын
How well is the jbweld holding up? I'll be doing pretty much the same thing on my 580K stabilizer rams. I'm hoping the Hyd Oil filter catches anything that leaves the cylinders....I'm putting a new filter in too.

Update on how the JB weld is holding up???
@hillbillystyle3 жыл бұрын
It’s been over a year and the jb weld is still holding. So I would call that a success!
