Good to see you back at it! I really enjoy all your videos. They remind me of my younger days on the farm. Thanks for sharing you journey with us.

I don't see why those wouldn't cut! Lol I've used a haybine for the last 18 years. This is my first year with a diskbine and it the best thing since sliced bread! Never knew Heston built them for IH I guess the later ones are built by New Holland after the merger!

Yeah, haybine and discbine are like night and day. I read that Case IH hay equipment after 1999 was built by New Holland.

Ever had any leaks in your cutter bar. Wondering where my is leaking from? I have the Hesston 1320 which I think is the same as yours’. Guess it’s a hole in the bottom of the bar or maybe just the hub seal or something. Guess I’ll be taking all the turtles shell cover things off and figuring out what I’v got going on . Have to fill it up with oil after every use.

No, never had a cutter bar leak. Good luck with yours.

The extended forecast doesn't look very good for making dry hay, but I think after this week-end I am going to role the dice and cut hay anyway
@farmerpete4 жыл бұрын
Looks kind of like it might dry out towards the middle of next week. Hope that's so.

My oats are so heavy they’re going down 🙁. We have had a water delay on the last 30 a of clover hay as well, but wheat still looks OK. Gotta get the cordless impact 🙂! Imagine picking rocks 😂🤣😂. Thanks

You should do an equipment tour video I’d like to see all the equipment you got

That's not a bad idea, I might do that.

Changing knives on these are lot easier than pulling out sicklebars with rivets holding them on!!

Too bad about the oats not doing well for what you wanted to do with them. Pretty nice mower. Good work doing the preventive maintenance/service on the mower. Stay safe.

That really does seem like a small amount of oil, guess it works ok though.

I figure it must be really shallow.

You have wore out enough body joints over the years, you need to remember to use an impact gun to remove and replace nuts and bolts when possible. I'm not saying to disregard tightening with proper torque but new cordless ones are nice.
@farmerpete4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I should really pick up a cordless impact.

I figure baling oats means I'll have more hay to sell.

Would taking a land roller over your ground help push the rocks down? I know guys do it in soybeans and they say it makes cutting easier for harvest
@farmerpete4 жыл бұрын
It's possible. Don't see that done much around here. I suspect it wouldn't work as well in the fields with heavy clay.

How many horse do you figure that discbine takes ?
@farmerpete3 жыл бұрын
I would say around 60. My Farmall 450 will run it but works it pretty hard. My Allis Chalmers 180 handles it well.

The rocks never stop growing, do they? LOL I recently did a service on my discbine too. Where did you buy your new knives?
@farmerpete4 жыл бұрын
I ordered the knives from All State Ag parts. I order a lot of stuff there. They are in Iowa so I get things usually the next day.
