This fracture is almost identical to the one I have “tibia plataeu Complex”. Would you recommend ever removing the plats and screws from this type here in the video ? If so is the recovery just as painful as the fracture ? I’m considering removing my screws become of lost of range of motion. Thank you so much for posting this

Could be interesting with a evaluation annex to this video. How is the patient doing today. Can patient run? Pain? How close to previous functionality does patient have 1-10.

You must be an amazing surgeon! This was so educational. I broke my tibia plateau back in August definitely the worst thing I've ever experienced.

Are you okay now. Recently I too broke my lateral tibia plateau. Just want to know is there any future impact?

Hi Manoj- with a good fixation, early range of motion and good physiotherapy then it should be entirely possible.

Hi Raed, it is down to the surgeon how many screws go in there. Enough to stabilise the fracture. In this video Dr Bogdan explains the role of each of the screws. We cannot offer medical advice. But in general screws can cause irritation as you put your knee through a range of movement. Generally if the pain can be tolerated it is unlikely to cause any harm assuming it is not near any anatomical structures. If it is causing alot of discomfort or you are unsure then a trip to see your surgeon would be advisable.

Everyone is different and it takes time to recover. Be guided by your surgeon who knows the specifics of your injury and the fixation undertaken. Internet advice is not recommended. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hi!! I have same TPF as video, a long plate one side and short plate in the other side, has been 3 years now and fully recovered, it takes about more 2 years to walk normal is everything is going well, if person is healthy like me I guess, i can do everything but running, I don’t have or had pain neither of winter or summer, I hear a lot of people got a pain in cold weather I don’t, so be patient it takes time. Try to stay healthy if u r in recovery, I’m a race motorcycle rider, dirt bikes rider, surfer, snowboarding, ++ and i can keep doing it.

@@DR-Repsolrr so it took you 2 years to walk normal? When did you start sports? Did you have pain during your first 2 years of recovery? If so, how long did they last? I am on month 5 now also as bad and with bone replacement. My therapist said I might be able to skateboarding again, and maybe freestyle ski, but I can’t even imaging doing so because of the pain I still have 🥲(and I am usually not sensitive to pain! I was totally fine when I shattered the knee, this bad and also had multiple other bone Frakturen and never needed painkillers. But this pain when I bend the knee and put weight i really have trouble dealing with ) Do you have any Tipps?
