Survive. Reproduce. Repeat. Is that all we're here for? Some people make this claim, including noted evolutionary biologist and atheist Richard Dawkins. But does it match up with the scientific evidence? On this ID The Future, we're sharing selections from a recent talk by geologist Dr. Casey Luskin on the origin and uniqueness of human beings. You’d be hard-pressed to find another lecture that accomplishes what Casey does here in 30 minutes: review the fossil history of hominids and humans to show the large, unbridged gap between the two, bust the myth that humans are 99% genetically similar to chimps, demonstrate the plausibility of intelligent design to explain the Big Bang origin of the genus Homo, and argue that the human race is unique and unparalleled in its moral, intellectual, and creative abilities.

Hi from Brazil. Please make a video about PPR, the proportion between predator and prey. In each case, in every specie, if just one of the were evolved by itself, the outcome will be desastrous. Both of them had to be ready in their funcionality at the same time. That's ridiculous.

Without the video presentation it doesn't have the same impact. It's like listening to the radio.

We are a collection of atoms that are able to think about atoms. Thank you for the lecture.

It makes no difference how much time in involved. There is no mechanism whereby any additional genetic sequences can be added to the existing genome. Mutations are errors that drop information and cannot advance an organism to a higher stage. There are ap. 5,000 mutations in the human genome. None of them are favorable.

I love the idea of intelligent design and to think that we all have a special place in a world designed for life. I like the idea of human uniqueness. But then I am sceptical when I see so many people suffering and dying from genetic diseases, often debilitating ones. What sort of divine designer would allow that sort of thing? My mother died very young from MS for example. So many genetic disorders, cancers affecting young and old, many people wheelchair bound. People dying of hunger. Where is the grand design? I guess in favour of design it is interesting though that humanity not only has developed such intelligent brains but also has the designed body to be able to perform tasks and put thoughts into action. For example, arms and hands to grab objects and build, make fire, and write and draw etc.

It has to do with teological aspect. If you believe in Adam and Eve, they failed, and then all creation get corrupted. Also many things that happens to us has to do with our behaviour, we could be thousand of year in advance but we figth with each other, instead of trying to create a better world. Also God is giving us lessons for humility and to learn, in order to get ready for the next life. And as followers of Jesus we must go through the narrow path, not the easy one. Keep searching my friend, and specially praying.

The world is full of suffering. If there were no disease and everything was a paradise then mankind would find other ways to be miserable.

Disease came in after Adam and Eve rejected God. There were no bad things at creation. Some people suffer and turn away from God and some turn to Him. He does offer blessings for obedience. And curses for disobedience. We are so disobedient as a nation in many ways. We do all the pagan days and reject God's holy days. We eat unclean meats murder our children in the womb take drugs smoke drink to excess. And fornication is rampant.

@Samhassan8955 I'll tell you what kind of designer would allow the degradation of all species, and even every chemical bond that we can think of that has to be labeled with an expiration date. It is a Creator who wanted only the best for His creation, but His apex creature decided that they wanted to go-it without Him. He allowed the creature to try to be his own god to find out for himself that he desperately needs the God who created him, instead of the god that he created for himself (or out of himself.) God didn't want to make moist robots. He wanted us to want Him as their King and Savior and benevolent provider, just like any Dad wants from their children. It will not always be like this, Sam. God can only have a limited time to be patient with His disobedient children before He will finally be rid of everyone that doesn't want to be with Him in a perfect everlasting place to have a wonderful and everlasting life. That's why the same all wise Creator has sent his only begotten Son to be punished for the sins of His creatures, and offer a gift that anyone who wants it can receive it.

Way to make a big boy argument. I can see you have really thought deeply about this. You definitely aren't just a mindless parrot who repeats anything his thought leaders tell him to.
