I really like your tutorials as they are showing tool by their practical application. Not some arbitrary way you can use it. This way not only we get info on the tool and how it works but also gives ideas on where we might use it. Also I like that now you did progressive showing of corrections at the middle and end not just the before and after everything. Thank you very much for your work on those tutorials.

Very well done on this most important color correcting topic, the face. Clear and concise with good detail of DR controls and the effects. Understood the use of parallel nodes for eyes, teeth, skin as this separates each treatment. Following timely but quick navigation often is challenging as I am fairly new to DR but this was perfect. Thanks, and again, very well done.

WOW. Fast,easy and simple to create something much harder and possibly impossible to do in the video editors I have used. It is even easier, faster and simpler than using Photoshop Elements. I presume that I can import a photo , work on it the same way as a video clip and then export it as a photo. The existence of parallel nodes is one of the best things I have seen with DaVinci and which does not exist with the editors I have used.

Dude! You da man! I have an idea for a video that you could potentially do. I work on an extremely long documentary sometimes over two hours. I can have anywhere from 30 to more titles. Every single project the producer wants to make a final tweaks to the lower thirds or titles etc. at the last minute. Is there a way to change all of the titles at the same time globally for specific group like the lower thirds. I would saving the titles out and applying them as a saved effect during the edit. so each title will essentially the same in fusion except for the text on each title. Is there a way to globally change something on all of those effects easily or do you need to go in and tweak each one separately?

Hmm... You, sir, are a master. Great tutorial. Thanks. Got me thinking. R5 8K RAW video to create the best portrait still frames and short clips? So hard to get great young family portraits with babies and youngsters (grandchildren). This could work. Of course, choosing the best frames, and editing in Lightroom, would work for stills, but not for special short video clips.

Let me ask, on the bottom of your color page you have 3 sections. I USED to have the same, but after the update it deleted the center pane. How do i get that second one back? I can't seem to find it, as all the things from the center pane that are gone now are all in the first one. Im confused why it did this and can't find how to change it back since the update.

Then you don't need whitening... 😁. As he says, this example is easy. I guess you have to start another tracker and confine these with keyframes.
@JimRobinson-colors3 жыл бұрын
@@jopereirapt Not true - you have to animate a mask for stuff like that because the effect will still be there. The same with any eye fixing - when they eyes are closed it can change drastically. Casey should have shown how to edit the track by switching it to frame on the tracker. Then you can go to a frame make changes - move ahead and change it again and Resolve will animate between the changes on frame basis with added keyframes. So in the case of a power window - if someone closes their eyes ( or mouth ) you can animate the circular window and follow the movements.
@JimRobinson-colors3 жыл бұрын
@@newscotlandtv I don't doubt that for a second. Casey has been making Resolve tutorials for a long time. He has probably, in one way or another, covered pretty much everything. The fact that someone asked the question was the relevance of me saying that maybe Casey should have quickly shown that. When these techniques are used in a color correction workflow - that exact thing happens a lot. So the person watching this could tie it together, if it was relevant. He pointed to other videos all through this one. So that could have been a - "I cover this in this video" moment.

what a hassle for fixing bad lighting....it looks fake as fuck. there's no depth but some part of the face are brighter, it doesn't look real. this isn't "hollywood levels" because the cinematography is bad. did nestor almendros fix

I think it’s because very often just for the sake of the tutorials, we can’t use the best footage, it’s just to show you some possibilities of the software, not to create the live edit of a Hollywood movie
