I teamed up with @troysOffroadRecovery to get this abandoned truck camper out go the National Forest for PLS Bend as part of our forest cleanup efforts. It was DEEP in the woods and had been there for many years. The people who put it there somehow managed to get it perched onto a precarious set of stands next to a canal, and we had to get it down without dropping it off the stands and blowing it to pieces in the woods. So Troy brought out his 6x6 military wrecker to lift it, while I used my skid steer to maneuver my car trailer up the forest trail and into position. We then removed all the stands, lowered it onto my trailer, and hauled it back out to my rollback, where we loaded everything back up and hauled it to the storage area where it can be processed.
Be sure to check out our Patreon project where we use whatever it brings in in a month as our budget to help someone the following month! I was never a fan of the Patreon idea until I realized that I can use it to help others instead of myself, so I created the Patreon Project where we can all combine our efforts to make a real difference in people's lives and make the world a better place! For as little as a dollar a month you can join the group of awesome people already on board and be vote to help steer the ship along the way!

@@George-dy3pt first off. You have no idea who I am and what I do. Since retirement I run a farm down here. Rescuing abused and neglected horses. Through the Veterans rehab services, vets With TBI/PTSD/homeless/ recovering addicts come here. Through councilling and therapy, these vets regain their self respect, get vocational training in construction trades, and get to point of self sufficiency. Being a Native American , it is a large part of our life to return "life" to our community and family. In as much as that. I can only say to you, conversation in like driving a stick shift car. Love watching big equipment working! I used to build foundations for pre-built modular homes. I'd pre-grade the lot and staging area. The truck would haul in the home and the setting crew would roll the home onto the foundation. In some cases, a crane would lift and swing it onto the foundation one half at a time. I loved watching the setting crew scurrying around getting everything lined up while it was being lowered onto the foundation. I provided a "turn-key" service for the owners. When I was done all they had to do was move in. All utilities were installed and turned on, lot was finish graded and either sodded or seeded and driveways and walks poured.

That was some slick maneuvering putting your trailer under the camper with the skid steer,I never thought of using a skid steer that way? Smart thinking!

You need to create a checklist so you do not forget anything Casey, just a suggestion. By the way, who is David?

Just what everyone needs is a 6X6 with a boom or a friend that has one. Maybe I will win the lottery someday to buy one. Thanks again to you and Troy for keeping our forests available to everyone. 🐻

I’m guessing you don’t have a pickup truck? That’s probably how it got there!

I know you always say, I never said I was good at this, but wouldn't it have been easier to run power to the camper jacks, raise the camper, back a truck under it, and lower it back down? Just sayin lol. Much more entertaining this way though :)

Sure. But wouldn’t it be kind of expensive to buy a pickup just to remove an old camper??

Casey I am assuming your lovely wife doesn't always watch your videos. I can guarantee she wouldn't have liked the place where it would of worked or went really bad.

As a non-wife old lady, I didn’t like the part where he was standing under the boom with the bar attached, that scared me more. Only bad experience I had was when I climbed on the hitch of a dump trailer to hold a branch out of the way as the trailer lifted all the way up. Equipment was fine but my balance is lousy now and my friend was yelling at me to get down…as he sat in the cab of his pickup with the radio on and truck running. I kept yelling that I couldn’t get down (knew I would fall without help). That went on for a while as we yelled louder and louder and some pointed words were added (by me). When he finally got out of the truck and heard me say I needed help, he did help and I did fall but not badly. When I apologized for yelling so much and my language, he said he hadn’t heard me at all. 😖🤦🏼‍♀️😆. Lesson learned.
One VERY Dirty Job…
