If I remember correctly that bus has a 7.3 diesel. The fuel bowl heater will blow the ECM fuse. Unplug it and that will usually fix the problem. The plug is on the back bottom of the fuel bowl. Just for future reference. Just the first thing to check.

Finally a video that was not ruined by easy use of Yankum Ropes. I mean a Yankum Rope helped at the end, and was the winch line, but this was an actual, technical recovery. hey Casey, I'm a school bus fleet mechanic and watching the way you tow the vans is way better than how our local tow company does it. they just put it nose first on a roll back and crush the tail pipe and scrape the rear bumper every time, sometimes they even rip the exhaust off. it typically takes an hour or 2 to fix the damage they cause, if they just do it the way you did life would be so much easier. love the vids, stay safe and have a good day.

The last year that I worked there I drove a T.M.A. (Truck mounted attenuator I.E. crash truck) and they have lights and arrows and a giant bright yellow ass on them and still got hit twice on the highway. The potential gain of viewers coming to Casey because of Robby Layton contacting him for this job, is part of the reason why it was ignorant and unprofessional for Casey to throw out several little insults at Robby throughout this video. Plus, the sponsorship from On X Offroad for this video, and possibly even more connection with On X for Casey, made possible, because of Robby contacting him for this job. It shows a lack of (or a lapse of?) integrity, to throw insults at someone who did something good for you. And, Even if Robby hadn't done anything for Casey, it would be very foolish and ignorant, to try to insult Robby for this small issue happening with the On X bus, because On X Requested for Robby to do the build on the bus, when they knew that this build was outside of his field of expertise because he is a Auto Body man, that has only recently started trying to do some personal Off Road builds. Robby and his crew did an Amazing job on this build, considering how little experience they have at doing work like this. And, you can bet your life on the fact that Robby will do any follow ups necessary to fix any deficiencies the bus may have. Likely even if the breakdown wasn't any fault of his.

I have one major issue with OnX Offroad. It doesn't have Australian off-road map support. I'd happily pay a reasonable amount for quality off-road "trail" maps, or off road tracks as we call them. Unfortunately all we have are either free or cheap and low quality, or half decent and an outrageous price. Even the good maps have missing tracks or show tracks that no longer exist.
@adventureswithdavedave
@adventureswithdavedave Ай бұрын
This is no dis at OnX, but many of their off-road trails in the US originate from free/crows sourced data. The United States National Forest Service has thousands of miles of GIS map data that are freely available for anyone, and OnX was just smart enough to incorporate it into a product. Once you have a trail already mapped, getting trail reviews etc. is much easier. I'm assuming the Australian govt doesn't have that data available, and they need to rely solely on crows sourced data. Hopefully they're working on it though!
@35manning
@35manning Ай бұрын
@@adventureswithdavedave I'm not attacking On X, even if the data is available around the world is available and free, the resources to include that data and maintain quality is a big ask. We do have a kinda similar app for Australia, called NewTracs, that has free and paid options. Not a recommendation or endorsement for them. They use Openstreetmap data and some government data sources like road closure lists. Their marketing hook, is their semi-live track difficulty rating system. All users can record their drives, this data is then tagged with the users vehicle profile including modifications like wheel size, suspension lift, diff lockers etc is used to calculate the difficulty of a track along with highlighting tough sections. Users can also manually add "pins" of obstacles that are especially difficult, where they had to winch, where the road is blocked and impassable etc. This then updates, using whatever algorithm they use, the tracks rating according to the Aussie standard of Easy, Medium, Difficult and Very Difficult. The problem is, they only support existing data from OSM, so if a track is missing or wrong, somebody basically needs to drive that track with independent GPS tracking, take notes along the way and then add that data into OSM.

I used to want a spike strip to throw out when hooking up on the hiway, but the cops told me I couldn't. So I told them to come with me. Amazing how much people slowed down when there were red and blue lights flashing!

Casey, him calling you was simple. He knows no one else would have completed the job in the way you did. Like it or not you take care of the little things most tow companies do not. Also a most excellent job as always dealing with the cry baby. lmao

This was PRICELESS!! I'm sure Robby will never hear the end of this...Ha Ha Ha. That trick of throwing the chains on the road is a good idea & I see from this, IT WORKS!! But what about in winter when there's snow on the road?

Casey, can you set a poll to see how many people watch Matt, Rory, Fab Rats, and Robby? During your intro you held off on mentioning the onX bus, but I think most everyone that watches you may also watch them. You deserve a lot more viewers in my opinion.
