Ever since I went out to the Ochoco mountains to rescue the T-Bums after they were caught in a severe thunder storm, I've been wanting one of these old cars. This is without a doubt one the coolest and most fun ways to go off roading that I've seen, and I want to join in. Since I know nothing about these cars and the differences between them, Dennis invited us up to go over a few different models, and take them for a test drive. After driving both a Model T and a Model A, I'm even more hooked and on the hunt for one!
Be sure to check out our Patreon project where we use whatever it brings in in a month as our budget to help someone the following month! I was never a fan of the Patreon idea until I realized that I can use it to help others instead of myself, so I created the Patreon Project where we can all combine our efforts to make a real difference in people's lives and make the world a better place! For as little as a dollar a month you can join the group of awesome people already on board and be vote to help steer the ship along the way!

As someone who used to drive trucks and train others I've got to say you're calm deliberate vague instructions were great. If you just give the trainee all the info without having them learn by doing it, it just never seems to work. Good job Ethan and Casey. One word of caution though buying cars and trucks can become a habit that's hard to control.

Reminds me of teaching my girlfriend and future wife how to drive a manual transmission. It got into that repetitive lunging forward-almost stop that happens before you learn to modulate the clutch. She was about to cry but I told her that everyone does that when they are learning and it may take a few tries but she will get the feel of it.

I was learning to drive the truck and back up a trailer all in the same day lol, right around the same time...Dad was in the passenger seat containing his laughter quite well. Within the next 6 months I had driven each variety of truck on the yard hooking up and swapping out doubles - 70's internationals with air starters, 6 speed sidewinder Macks, twin screw volvo sleepers - yeh, backing up a converter dolly with one of those is a hoot and a half!!

@@--_DJ_-- It was all fun stuff. A driver might be coming through keeping the front load and picking up a new rear, so, he'd drop the rear trailer, keep his dolly and we'd spot the new rear behind the dolly - sort of a parallel/90 degree parking job backwards...The reality was you could show up for your shift and drive anything from the yard switcher with a hydraulic fifth wheel or a tractor of some flavor. The variety kept you on your toes for sure!

Good morning Casey I agree that a series of teaching Ethan stuff would definitely be a good idea. The reason it would be a good idea is because it helps Ethan but you also educate your subscribers about things that may not know Ethan needs to get more confident in my opinion learning from you is a true honor because you will teach him the right way and not just the short cut tricks. Are you running low on power steering? When he was turning the wheel backing up sounded like you may need to add some power steering unless that is a normal thing.

Nice, I would buy the truck. My Uncle used to buy these, fix them up, drive them a bit, then sell them. My Dad and Uncle used one of these trucks with an old hood tied to the back to clear and dig the hole to the half sunk basement for our house. They bolted two 2x4s to each side of the hood and my Dad held those while my Uncle drove the truck.

I am currently building a 1924 ford model T 4 door sedan with a 2024 2.3L Ecoboost from a mustang with it's 10 speed automatic transmission. The car is 100 years old and it will be a practical daily driver with a 4 cylinder ford power train that is exactly 100 years newer. The car is going to be as stock appearing as possible inside and out. The car is getting modern heating and air conditioning and it will be mounted under the car with vents hidden throughout the interior. Everything will be controlled from a hide away touch screen. It has power door locks, keyless entry and power windows. I am using a 2024 Ford key fob and I still need to find a company to make a custom housing for it using the vintage ford logo and model t insignia. People are going to trip out when they see it passing them at 80+ mph on the freeway on a hot summer day with all the windows rolled up.

First time I ever drove a truck was interesting. I had answered an add to drive a harvester in Medicine Hatt A.B. I met the guy in a pub and drove to a farm. I then drove a combine for the first time for about 20 miles, taking up the whole road. When I got to the farm, I was told to jump into an extended dump truck towing a feeder for the harvester. With zero experience and no class 1 I was told to drive to another town. Shifting up was ok, but double clutching was difficult when down shifting. To make things worse, there were 3 of us in the cab with my new boss screaming and cursing as I struggled to get the truck into gear. Casey didn't seem too bad.

This video needed a trigger warning for Ethan driving the Zak Lift... talk about flash backs to my dad parking his mgb roadster on the massive incline in our driveway and handing me the keys at 16. "Go move it and don't pop the clutch" 😶 thank God I didn't have a camera pointed at me while doing so 😅 going to go rock back and forth in a corner now Also, Ethan needs a raise after this one. You're a pain in the ass 😆

Casey, it's good for you to show Ethan how to use the heavy lift truck. If something unfortunate happens to you he'll be a great backup to take care of you and the truck.

Love the way you are so encouraging to Ethan, like a big brother. No idea what he did before, but training someone who is so engaged in a real trade can only be a really good thing for both of you. Also never knew how complicated it is to drive a big truck, always just assumed it was like driving a pick up, just more gears and air brakes. Typical of this channel, I learn something from every video.
