Drag Races on the Sand Dunes

That slow-mo sand drag shot is quite satisfying lol. Pretty cool how the sand looks like a wave.

A boat/ship produces a pressure wave in the water I had a captain's license for many years. It pushes a wall of water in front of it which is equal to 1/2 the length of the vessel. At a midships of a vessel the water is no longer pushed downwards and forwards but is now filling in an air void under the bottom of the vessel the air is what causes the bubbles as water displaces the air in the wake. This is referred to as suction or drag. I did not learn of this events of physics till I got my private pilot's license for airplane the same effects takes place in the air surrounding an airplane. Understand with the object being dragged in the sand it does exactly the same because did create a pressure wave. Intersection for drag created the smooth area in the sand behind it. Sir, you were correct it did produce a "Wave" in the sand.😁 Sand though it is a solid comprised of millions of near microscopic grains has mechanical properties of liquid when wet and more so when dry.

At the Imperial Sand Dunes (both Glamis and Gordon's Well)there are also sand drags. But they go way over 100 mph. Everybody should check it out that is into speed.

if you make a V on the bottom of your sand drag it will want to drag straight

We can adjust the chain and make it drag straight or if it is on a wider vehicle we can adjust it to drag at an angle...less pulling resistance and takes out the drag vehicles tracks.

Every thanksgiving wkend for many years our 4x club (Gold coast 4x4) Would hold a sand drags here on the beach at the Oceano Dunes ohv park. I would do the same thing in my old 88 xj good times. Smoothing out the track California made it to tuff and to many hoops to jump thru. To this Day They are trying to close it down to all vehicle's
