@ I have no idea. I can’t remember what happened last year. If I have more than I need to pay, I will spend it on what I want or put it towards a sinking fund because that will be the end of the tax year if that makes sense so I would just start over.

can I ask a question, I'm completely new to this why do you have so many categories? and binders? seems a bit overwhelming? And wouldn't it be easier to pay your bills online instead of taking the cash out just to take it back to the bank?

I have so many categories/binders because I like to have money saved up for each part of my life. It would be easier to keep the money for my bills in my checking account but taking the money out ensures that I am not just swiping my debit card relentlessly because I see a high number in my checking account. Taking the money out and putting it into the envelope for each bill lets me physically see that I cannot spend that money because it is strictly for bills only. It’s personal preference!
