I was able to save $800 for Christmas for my adult children. I’m giving them each $400 so they and their spouse can get away for a weekend. This really makes me feel good!

I keep a monthly spreadsheet. At the end of each month, I audit each envelope and log it on the sheet. I have formulas in place so that can quickly see how much was saved during the month, along with the current total for the money on hand. That keeps me going. I love watching the numbers grow. My goal is to pay toward the principle on our house and get it paid off earlier.....so seeing that number grow is exciting.

I created a reusable advent calendar this year with mini ornaments and a mini Christmas tree. I'm hoping as our family grows, it'll be something fun that can be somewhat changed every year in terms of order, but at the same time I don't have to buy new things every year. I have also see Christmas books done, which is a great idea.

We stopped buying advent calendars a few years back because they honestly cost way too much for the items in it. My sister purchased an empty one from Amazon for each of her kids and reused it. You can keep it affordable if you only put a higher value gift for a few boxes.

Hey Jordan, I have lapses in cash budgeting but I’m starting again with a month ahead binder a sleeves for vacation and Christmas, wish me luck. Do you think I should also do variable spending too? I know you change up what you do quit often, where is the best place or things to due when you decide to restart?😊 thanks.

I absolutely like idea of controlling when I pay bills. No auto pay for me lol Part of my budgeting is cash and some in the bank. I say whatever works for you is the best way. Love watching your videos 😊

Got a reusable advent calendar, wooden, stands up and not a space hog. It will pay for itself in 3 years compared to the cardboard single-use advents with tiny candy. The various drawers can be filled with candy, small bath bombs, coins, dollar bill, hair ties, matchbox cars, lip balm, single make up items, and other tiny things. I wish I had done this years ago.

To stay motivated and celebrate small wins, I do smaller savings challenges that get stuffed into my long term challenges once I complete them. I've really been enjoying doing mini and tiny scratchers along with roll and saves lately.

My kiddos love the Lego advent calendars. We preorder them in August for like $30 each this year my kiddos picked Lego SpiderMan & Star Wars. I used to just get sweetie ones but they’re so pricey here ($12-15 each) and you have nothing afterwards so def prefer the toy or trinket type ones so you have something exciting each day. My other 2 kiddos picked a gemstone one so each day you get a gemstone and a fact-card about it and it was like $10 on Amazon. And a bath duck one! Each day you get a bath duck in a costume and it was around $6 on Amazon which was an amazing bargain tbh.

Hi, Jordan 2024 was not a great saving challenge year for me. I'm going to start the "2025" year on December 1st of "2024" for me, I pray that I'm able to do it and stay on track...!

I am starting all over in 2025 & minimizing my categories. I feel like I'm trying to do too much, and it's definitely not working out.
