As a parent with a child on the spectrum I can completely relate to being overwhelmed by loud places/noises. One thing which was a lifesaver for my son was noise canceling headphones. After purchasing them, we were able to go to the movies, monster jam, etc without him having a meltdown. Great video today. Enjoy your weekend.

@@theaestheticdollar I know it’s not the same but I worked in child care and had lead on a 5 year old on the spectrum who hated his headphones at the start of our time together (he also wasn’t so thrilled with me, because I had to enforce the school routine). But we both got through it great and became best buds. I am so sure you are doing amazing and not that interested in “advise” but I thought I’d share Some things that worked for me. I rarely ever forced them (there was one or two times for safety I had to to bring him down and get him out). Always made it his choice, but told him how much I thought it would help. When I could i would let him see me wearing them and how “happy” they made me and never made it a big deal that he was wearing them. Pretty soon he got to experience how much more stuff he was able to do and participate in and would advocate for him self within two or three months.
