Hey Cashew, I did the test at the same time as your review with Skyline hot and I must say, I could have probably removed my tree stumps with this stuff. I must say skyline has the hottest hot sauce in a chili joint here in Cinci. At home I mix it with Cilantro chopped fine with chipotle Pods some times and use it on tocos. It's also a good mix on smoked Chicken wings smoked in the Traeger smoker. only an hour then dipped in sour cream with chives and dill. Beer with that of course. Cheers.

I used to like Gold star better, but about 15 yrs ago switched to Skyline is better🤤, (between those two choices)….However I do like Camp Washington too, but they are farther to get to…and I fix a good chili, a thicker type you don’t necessarily have to eat spaghetti with. They all are a little different, so kinda depends on the mood for what style I like. There was a place called Chili Time in St. Bernard that had the best cheese coneys but closed last year after 60 years. Cincy does have a good selection of chili places. I agree with you on the hot sauce, it is good,👍🏻,our Skyline always has the squeeze bottles of hot sauce on the tables.(you always know the locals cause we all put a several drops of hot sauce in the oyster cracker holes and pop them in your mouth while waiting for the chili, lol) Bit of trivia, did you know Gold Star first restaurant was in Mt Washington, the owners bought their spices from Jordan. I believe the first Skyline was in Price Hill on Glenway Ave overlooking the city skyline, hence the name.Skylines recipe originated in Greece. Empress was the first chili restaurant in Cincinnati. Dixie Chili and Skyline both were created by former Empress employees. I have tried both Dixie and Empress chili once , but I don’t remember much about them. Thanks for another great fiery Friday👍🏻

Thanks for your thoughtful comment Sandra! Cincy Shirts sell a variety of chili themed shirts and one has the chili bomb on it. We’re lucky to have so many choices for chili.

I love skyline hot sauce and it makes skyline coneys the bomb. Sprinkled on that shredded cheddar I would describe it as a wonderful tangy, hot taste. More tang than any other hot sauce and tang is good.

Sounds like a nice blend of 🌶 Wonder if Hok'ee would eat it since HE likes hot 🌶 plants🤔😏 I have only ever tried Skyline in the can, and that will not happen again. I have a recipe for it, so intend on trying to make the recipe myself. I like the technique used in the recipe, so we will see. I vote for Skyline , live in Michigan now and only get it in cans . When we visit Fort Myers Florida they have a Skyline. We eat there everyday.
