Second unit for me, if I were going to rent one of them. I would make the budget work to have the whole place to myself and not share the solitary bathroom with a roomie. Love the roof access for sure. And yeah, it has the better kitchen, too. See you in the next video Mr Jordan.

Yep. Alex brought two winners today. I actually liked the 2nd unit ($4500/month) much better even though it's a two-bed and just one bath. I liked that layout much better than the first unit ($4500/month) two-bed and 1 1/2 bath. The snack area of the second unit felt like more of a kitchen because of the room through the pass-through. The Easy-Bake kitchen in the first unit... well. Anyway, they're nicely priced and in a great area.
@MamaCarola1 Жыл бұрын
2nd was definitely way better. Don't remember if there was a laundry room in the basement tho. You know how much I hate spiral staircases. No wonder the deck furniture was staying up there. & you better like the other tenant since there's no fencing blocking them

I lived in NYC all my life. I had a 6 room apartment and rent was $800. Huge Huge apartment. Rent controlled . All stores were close by. The ONLY reason we left NYC was coz the new building owners paid us a fortune to move. Going rate is $100,000. So we used the money to put a downpayment on a house by the Jersey shore. And we are 90mins away from NYC so I can go back any time I want . I usually do, to shop. We love it here. We have a small secret private beach a few mins away. And beautiful huge parks with lakes and hiking. We don’t miss NYC . The landlord of my old $800 apartment renovated it and is now making about $5500 a month . So they’re making their money back . I don’t care, we have two cars that we couldn’t park anywhere in NYC. It was a nightmare finding parking for our cars. Here we have plenty of parking right on our property and driveway . NYC is overrated . I don’t get why ppl want to live there. I’d never go back. I actually hated living in NYC . But we love it here.

That glass container you thought needed to be a terrarium is called a "carboy" and it's used in the fermentation stage for home brewing and home winemaking. Anyone with good sense would be using it on the deck to make beer because when you go to bottle beer, you want to do it on the deck because it gets pretty messy (I speak from firsthand knowledge).

The one thing your videos have taught me is that being a mover in New York has to be the worst job with all those upper story apartments with narrow stairways, not to mention the stairs within the apartments themselves. That's a great deck, but you share the space, and it's accessed via the master bedroom. Sixth-floor walkup would get old. The second unit has a more private but less interesting deck and more kitchen/living space, but it's also a multi-floor walkup and no mention of laundry in the building. I do like proximity of these units to Central Park.

I Love the 1st apartment with the spiral staircase leading to the semi private roof. It's great that there's a bathroom & closet in the upstairs bedroom and I would use the downstairs bedroom as my livingroom. The common space would be a dining room & pieces of art. The walk-in closet is marvelous. And Cash, that is a true walk-in closet; unlike 99% of the other closets in your videos that you mistakenly call walk-in closets.

Walk-ups with no in-unit laundry. Not necessarily a deal breaker, especially if you're young. I now apparently live in a walk-up building bcuz "dueto the elevators being flooded (from the heavy rains) they will be out of order for the 'immediatefuture' (whateverthat means). & the neighborhood is definitely good & plenty of restaurants to choose from. Personally i think the 2nd place is better bcuz the stairs up to the roof deck are way easier to navigate & it's not gong through 1 of the bedrooms. Price for that area is surprisingly affordabe compared to others.
@sinash Жыл бұрын
Yes! The price was shockingly affordable given the location to Central Park. I see a couple/partnered or roommate situ in either one. But a roommate situ would work quite well in the second unit. Sorry about your elevator. That's a pain in the ass-ets. Though, that was A LOT of rain we had. I feared we would be on course for another major flood.
@MamaCarola1 Жыл бұрын
@sinash it was. Never thought the elevators would be flooded, especially since there's no water around & the building is only 2-3 years old. Guess I won't be keeping amazon, fedex or ups drivers busy for a bit lol.

Dear Cash, I’m glad you’re doing really well and looks like yours and Alex’s apartments are renting like hot cakes... Unfortunately the very first apartment @ 100 W. 87th St., Apt. 4E is off the market already! Seriously, within 90 minutes of watching this video... That 2 bedroom W/ 1.5 baths for a mere $4,500pm was going, going, going, gone! This is happening quite often, you need to have a faster turnover for your videos! I appreciate the fact that you’re a family man now with two little adorable babies... Another reason you need to work faster kids are expensive!
