The new 210 and 214ce Plus Guitars from Taylor have arrived. Killers looks at a killer price with the new Aero case! Might be the best way to spend a little over $1000

I own a 210ce Plus and I love it. It's a fine instrument for the money and the included Aerocase really adds substantial value as well. It's my first Taylor guitar and the playability out of the box was fantastic. I was immediately right at home. I would have preferred an option without the cutaway but for lack of one I went with this and don't regret it at all. My next Taylor though will be what I consider to be a proper dreadnought in the form of a Grand Pacific model. In any event, I am very much a Taylor fan now having purchased a guitar this good with a great case too at this price point. The tone is beautiful. The ES2 system sounds really good too with my Fishman Loudbox. What I can't figure out is why I am not famous yet. I'm 63 years old now and I don't have forever. I guess I need to leave the house once in a while to be discovered. Maybe that's the problem. It can't be me. 😉

My wife found a 214ce direct from Taylor for $755 because it had “blemishes” on it. These blemishes were an extremely faint dark mark on the top that if no one told me it was there I’d never know it, and a small bubble of extra lacquer that got missed during the sanding process. Otherwise flawless. Couldn’t believe it.

I just bought the 214+. I have to say that the case was the only reason I got the price instead of the deluxe. In someways I really wanted the other features of the deluxe because they especially look very cool, but this case is so much better. Also after years of playing at 1:10 I’m appreciating the smaller size of the 214. Sounds great, I love it and the new pick up system which is the main reason I was looking to upgrade in the first place it’s just amazing.

@@skumakerguitar8708 Hi Skumaker, Honestly I have not played a 210. I'd assume that they would be very similar except the body shape. I do find my 214 does have wonderful action and I enjoy playing it quite a bit. I had a Martin as well, but I prefer the Taylor more. This is of course personal preference. I hope this helps.

@@dxcman1 wow awesome,is 214CE give bass booming response or its sound more middle when you strumming ? I have tried 210 and I really like the bass booming response when strumming give sounds more wide and warm

@@skumakerguitar8708 I would say mine is more balanced. It has Sapele back and sides so I'd say ,mine is more balanced. If you like the more bass of the 210 id say go for it and don't look back :-)

So Taylor came out with a dreadnought. Having played both on stage, I do like the power of a dreadnought. The 210ce has that power. Hit it hard and it explodes with sound. The 214ce is more traditional and was on my list, but I don't know...I want to try them side by side. The body shape does make a difference and while the 214ce has a crystal clear, more delicate voice, that kind of guitar can be over-driven if you play it hard, where the Dreadnought would just explode, acoustically. Hmmm.
@hammerscheich2 жыл бұрын
214ce "over-driven". That's exactly the one thing that just made me sent back my new 214. For recording (when it comes to strumming) the 210 makes a better performance. 214 always sounds like as if there''s something missing in the mid frequencies...and it starts sounding a bit like a cheap guitar. It lacks the sustaining mid-power. And even in a mix the 210 does the better job. I took some audio-210ce-soundclips from youtube and overdubbed some other instruments. I'm sure this is a brilliant guitar for recoding. I also did these tests with the Martin 210 (sapele and spruce). But the Martins were even worse than the 214....

Do these now have the 1-3/4" nut width? That's the only thing about the 100-200 series I dislike....they've traditionally had a narrower nut width, which makes unintentional string muting a thing...
