same problem. but into pc and output to an old Creative 5.1 audio system ...sounds good. but on a hi fi system( danish) with dedicated amp...sound very low and fizzle sound ...

I'm a beginner, interested in classical piano so i really need the piano voice to be atleast a little close to real piano. Could you give your honest opinion about the piano voice and its comparison with Yamaha's piano sound.

I would say this one’s close enough to real piano. I would say it sounds quite good, but if you’re somewhat used to hearing pricier keyboard this may sound a bit lacking, especially on the low octaves

Agent Achung when comparing to a piano or my wife’s nice weighted key keyboard, the Casiotone has more resistance, but is lighter, so overall momentum needed is similar (but feels different). Also, you can’t lightly press/rest your fingers to keep the keys depressed like a piano. It’s minor, but noticeable. The keybed is a little springy in the middle especially. The keys can move an extra 1.5 mm past the stopping point due to the whole keybed flexing.

Priyojit Saha I own the CTS series keyboard myself (I have the red CTS200) and I think the keybed is one of Casio's best or the best keybed in this level. You cannot get any better keybed from a keyboard this price. The Roland Go Keys is the most comparable keybed of its genre. However if you're concerned about sounds, this keyboard is primarily based around the CTK sounds and is a bit grainy in certain places (the low end to a few sounds might remind you of the old Fairlight sampling machine) and some sounds are straight up retro-ish. So if you don't mind a few cheesy and grainy sounds like I do and just want a keyboard you could fool around go for this. But if you wish to have more expressiveness and more professionalism in your performance go for the CTX series.

@@subwaygaragemusic I agree. I also have the red one and despite there is no velocity and aftertouch, I am also using it as a MIDI Keyboard. The Keybed is nearly silent, with no noisy springs and it feels great. I also discovered, I could create interesting music even with the more cheesy sounds and the rythms (I don't use the styles) are helping me to just draw some rough musical miniatures. I am a guitarist and I wasn't expecting so much fun.

Gaurav Shah I’m thinking the CTX would be better. I’ve never played the CTX keyboards, but the CTS has a lot of compromises, with the main benefit being the handle & light weight. I watched a video on the CTX and it looks like a lot better keyboard.

I don't think that was an option when I ordered. I special ordered from Sam Ash Music before they were available on Amazon. My guess is that I got the piano only version, but I'm not sure. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the comment, yes, this doubles as a MIDI keyboard, but with limited functionality (because when using MIDI, the digital audio workstation will have the majority of the functionality with the keyboard just acting as a controller).

RANADHEER yes to metronome! There is a contrast adjustment. It looks like the adjustment on an older TI-83 calculator (low will be light colored text, medium is dark text, high will have a dark background that gradually gets darker to match the dark letters).

Orlan joshua Banaag yes, the same way you might play music from a cell phone with a 1/8” headphone jack/aux cord. Depending on your amp, you may need fittings or specialized cords to increase the cord from 1/8” to 1/4” and/or merge the signal from stereo to mono.
