Hey! Please answer the question of how the strap is attached to the case of the CASIO G-SHOCK GWF D1000 Frogman watch. Is there any backlash of screws that fix the strap and is the entire axis of the attachment scrolling?
@WatchUP69MrRangeman2 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy, Very easy to use, as long as you have the right tools for the job... so you'll need 2x hex head keys and fix them either side of the strap... then turn one of them counterclockwise until loose, then use your fingers to unscrew the last few threads, and you'll see it's a screw that goes into the other with one end longer than the other. Then inside there is a tube that will need removing... I've found that a BBQ wooden stick works well, but try not to use anything that's metal, as if you slip you'll dig into the strap and take a chunk out... you could also us a piece of plastic that's just a little under size... but this tube needs to be fully removed, and once out the strap will come away from the body. If you're struggling with removing the tube, just add some liquid soap around the edge and let it penetrate and this will make it easier if needed... hope that helps you my friend :))

So you can’t manually start timing a ‘dive’ (like with the GWF-1000) ? You have to hit at least 1.5meters to allow the watch to automatically start recording /logging the data? If so, that’s a bummer since it’s nice to know when you started a timer at what time during the day/night. Thanks for your review

This video is a "Motherload" of expertise and information. You do your research, and tell the truth. I didn't hear the audible tone telling me to slow down. That is a fact. But basic physics tells us that sound is much more intense, has much greater audibility, and will travel much farther under water. Y' all can look it up. Furthermore, If you're diving, you never take your eyes off your depth gauge, especially when surfacing. And you never rise faster/ or above your bubbles. That's basic SCUBA.

Vibrations in the water will be very lost, more useful would be if the backlight flashed.... this side to diving is really critical, and something not to get wrong... depends on methods too, as some use rope with knots tied in it. @@billhughes9648 I'm not sure why G-Shock went full analog, maybe because CITIZEN have a few, but some of theirs use a depth gauge, which is very important... the GWF-D1000 is basically everything you need, but it's more as either a secondary backup or if you have nothing else available. It's also nice to view what you did that day around a restaurant table being that it's so compact. The analog isn't for me, but I do like it and can see how many will add it to their collection. For it to be better in the water the hands need too much bigger, as using an analog in the waters especially when murky isn't easy on the eyes, forget lume as a torch is always carried when in darker waters. Having the bluetooth side is nice, but you can only seen your data when connected. If I didn't have my Gravitymaster I might be more tempted, the style is growing on me, and am looking forward to view one in the hand, as pictures don't do any watch justice. Thanks for your comments and feedback on your new Frogman, can I ask which colour you decided upon? I quite like the red version :) Thanks for your support too. Best regards Phill
@billhughes96484 жыл бұрын
WatchUP69 Mr Rangeman I got the one with the blue strap for a couple of reasons. First, I wanted the Japanese version which it is and secondly I liked the face color. That said, since I’m a big Jays an Kay’s fan, as soon as he builds the adaptors, I will be swapping the strap for that so I can use the Strapcode super engineer black PVD and or the variety of canvas or dive bands that they offer. I can also use a variety of NATO bands from Blue Shark or the variety of elastics that Nick Mankey Designs makes. Casio is still my favorite watch maker but I’m resisting the new Casio GBD-H1000 because of the mineral crystal and the fact that I did get end up springing for the Garmin 6X Pro Titanium and that pretty much satisfies my needs for a true sport watch. Anyway, your KZbin Channel has pretty much fueled my passion for Casio, god forbid you take on another line. ;-). Thanks again for all of your good work. - Bill

@@billhughes9648 I didn't know the blue version was special... It would be nice if resin bracelets were optional, since getting my GW-B5600 with the resin bracelet I'm really preferring the feel and comfort, makes your wrist swell less I've noticed, but it doesn't rattle like metal. PVD sounds interesting for the new Frogman, would love a photo when that happens and maybe you could write about it, and I will feature it on the community page as an idea?? I've had a few messages asking if the new G-Squad GBD is good for swimming and cycling also, but it seems it doesn't and is focused more on fitness training and running, so G-Shock missed a huge gap there! The Fenix does seem to be the one, but with the app down is really making route planning a mess... I posted on the community page about this if you didn't know. the resin problem on the rangeman and all g-shocks (outdoor survival) is fire and knife cuts. go make a fire with a fire stick at 3000 degrees the spark is very bad for your g-shock you can instantly damage it on the model gpr-b1000 the bracellet costs between 150 and 200 euro and on the gwg-1000 between 150 and 180 euros in store so you have to remove it to start a fire in the forest ... if you work with wood you work with small knives you slip and cut your watch given its size and material. it's 2 points its rarely discussed what do you think?
@WatchUP69MrRangeman4 жыл бұрын
Hey my friend... a very good point... I know a few welders who used to wear watches, but with the tiny pits on the crystal they've decided it just ruins a watch. Those flint fire starters can cause damage to the resin bezels and bracelets, but a fire stick I've yet to hear much about that side. Sometimes a watch strap does serve to protect too, but slipping with a knife seems like something isn't being used correctly, unless they're using a machete on someone else :-P If a G-Shock hasn't got marks then it's not being used... all the ones I use regularly have signs of having a good time :) A good topic, and if I come back to it I will sure mention it was your idea :) Cheers buddy!
@champagnejunior4 жыл бұрын
@@WatchUP69MrRangeman yes i am talking aboutflint fire starters the translation was not as expected. for my knife story i meant that for casio (survival) (outdoor activity) watches we would have expected strong steel or hybrid material resistant to fire and cuts. the MUD master series is not considered as a sports watch but as a watch for extreme environments which means that you have to cook, purify the water and therefore light fires you are in extreme conditions. Obviously you have a blade with you so for basic survival, a roof to sleep on, a fire to warm up, eat to cleanse, a blade to hunt and build. the gps of the gpr-b1000 is very good for that to locate areas of interest and record them in an extreme environment so it should have taken into account the fire and the cut to be able to call it (survival)
@WatchUP69MrRangeman4 жыл бұрын
@@champagnejunior If using a cerated edged blade then this will make more damage to the resin... bracelets in extreme conditions gets clogged with dirt, and this soon wears on the pins in the links making them sag... I personally like the carbon insert straps, more endurable and less likely to fail as it's one piece. Sometimes I attach my watch to a carabiner as it's not practical on the wrist, plus you won't loose it :-P I feel the GPR is pretty up there with the best, and having a possibility of setting 60 point memos is a huge bonus :)

@@stevenuk That discussion I can understand 😉. Still gpr-b1000... Is well built, and more comfortable on the wrist.

@@fsr2880 Built for different reasons... Froggy is for the waters, not comfy as the lug to lugs are too wide, but in the waters it's another fish... the Rangeman is the one I use the most, very practical and tacks me without battery concerns... the Froggy is Diver's rated thus is built for the harsh sea elements, while the Rangeman is more towards dust, mud and impacts... both have place in my collection :)
