***Well subscriber and friend Travis Walker has spotted something in the video, and with his help and knowledge has found out there is actually an LED on the display side that sits on the left side. In the video I said there's only one LED just to mention. It's not bright, but enough to probably backlight the reflective backing so it doesn't look too dark. Now looking at it again and again it's still not obvious as the main dial LED is super bright. So I apologise and stand hands held up high that i've cocked that up... but it's thanks to Travis and you guys that help make all the G-Shock understanding possible. Cheers Travis, very much appreciated :))

@@traviswalker8933 I'm not arrogant and I have no shame to holding my hands up with a mistake, and getting faked checked correctly is also helping others, nothing worse than making up some BS to cover a mistake, just own up and be very glad theirs people like you that mention it without making a fuss from it. I guess for some it's the credibility side as the viewers are looking up to them, in my case we are all together on the same level like a family. I don't pretend to know every G-Shock, and yes I do copy and paste model numbers to check, and then recognise the design that I might of seen before... I'm into the details and showing how it works, am very engineered in thinking, so finding out there's a second LED makes this video even more fact-full and covers another question :)

I love finding new things about a watch, have just found out in one of the test screens on the GW-B5600 it shows the times when it was last synced :)) I'm really really enjoying my GG-B100 too... the way it triggers the phone to record data is very smart, and this is why the GG-B100 can multitask... track back while tracking me while taking taking REC's and you can also set the alarms too... and once you've done a REC while LOGGED, you can open your device and see that waypoint, you don't need to wait to finish. I will make a followup video, as there is a few things I want to cover in more depth. Cheers for the feedback, and hope you stayed awake for all of it, if not, time stamps are in the description... thanks again my friend :)

Congrats my friend :)) The GG-B100 is a perfect everyday watch, you'll be surprised how light it is, but don't think because of that lightweight makes it feel cheap, carbon composite is an incredible material, it's stronger than steel... but the way it looks really makes it look premium! The barometer is the best from all the G-Shocks I've used, as the 20min/1hr graph really gives you live updates :) Forgot about the battery side, this is nothing compared to having a watch you can use without worrying it needs a charge in the sunshine... the Bluetooth side is where you can really custom the modes/display how you like it :) Please let us know your thoughts when it has landed... cheers for your feedback, really appreciate that side :))

Cheers for your wonderful comment my friend :) It's pretty much the same module with regards to functions, but the PRT-B50 do have the positive LCD side, thus why it has a different module number. The ProTrek's are not so bulky as G-Shock's, mainly as they can slip under a sleeve, while G-Shocks pack more padding as these are meant to be used on the outside of the sleeve. Great module and would like to make my GG-B100 with a positive display, sometimes in low lighting it needs a backlight to view the details. Cheers once again my friend :)

The thought of running out of power with no way to charge if you are in an area with out access to a battery replacement bothers me. There are many perks to these watches. If you don't need it, then there's no point, unless it will replace one you have? I don't have many G-Shocks that are used for their purpose, but the GG-B100 does get the most time these days, mainly because it's so light and comfortable... if they added solar with wireless charging then that's the best of both worlds... will get my battery video done this month so you'll see why... cheers :))

I'm glad you're living the same as me with regards to the GG-B100, absolutely gutted I didn't go for it earlier in 2019, but thanks to a subscriber and few channels, this made my decision easy and it has kicked 3 G-Shocks out of my collection because it's so good! I've always had a watch since very young, and CASIO was my main brand.. I do have some luxury ones, but don't wear them often, and to be honest, find them dull compared to a G-Shock... just love having the functions always ready on the wrist... but I am getting into another brand called LUMINOX, and have just bought my first so will crack a review of it... it's an addictive hobby and nobody knows why a watch can do this... but the beauty is there is no limitations to how you use them or which ones you should enjoy, just feel free to use channels like mine to view them, then it's your free choice... some channels like to say which socks to wear with what what, as for me, anything goes :-P Cheers and HaPpY Weekend :)

i just bought this watch same colour as yours, and wow, its such a nice looking watch so glad i went for this colour, I love it, and this tutorial was perfect to explain how everything works. Great work thankyou i'll definetly be watching this a few times so I can master how to use it, casio should include something like this not everyone likes or can read manuals, and the manual they include only has basic instructions, you can download a manual but they don't make it very intuitive, if they just included a card with a few QR codes linking to a video like this and the full manual, it would really help especially when theres so many functions, thanks again much appreciated of your hard work putting this together, bloody brilliant!

Thank you and so pleased you like the video... I wanted to share all it can do including the tour around a field with horses and cows... It is the most used G-Shock in my collection, just performs perfectly and that Barometer is just the best on any G-Shock... I have the GWG-1000 and that's a great watch, but compared to the GG-B100 offers more. A few see the battery being a negative, but I posted a good video showing the differences between battery and solar, and think that'll make you laugh and feel even better about your choice. Let us know your thoughts when it lands on your wrist... cheers :)

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman I was at Dillard's and they had the GWG-1000 and battery was dead in it lol. I then stopped at my local high dollar jewelry store and they had all of the G-Shock in stock. I like to do research, and after seeing your video and putting it on, and fit perfectly to my almost 8" wrist, I ordered one. I don't worry about batteries and it's an easy replacement. I will actually replace the battery before I set it up. I have a watch repair setup in my house. I have over 50 watches from Tag Huer, to Vostok, one G-shock, a few Diesel, Casio edifice, and watches I collected over 40 years I found tucked away and repaired with new batteries. I have old Timex, New Panzera dive watch, Zeros titanium, Phoebus bronze, Pagani hulk, Cadison Oak, a few Orient and my newest Avi-8 P51 grey with blue hands. It's 5 second fast and almost as accurate as my Pagani which is 2 seconds fast , which is pretty good for a $89 watch. Enjoy your content and subscribed and liked to help

@@JohnDavis-ol7qg Cheers for you great reply :) I've always done battery replacements every since I was young, and it was really all I owned, as solar was kind of newish or just not hitting the trend, maybe more were like us changing batteries :) Now I get the finger doms on, silicon the gaskets and even use composite tweezers LML :-P well at least I know the grease from my fingers won't be inside the watch... always a nice satisfaction getting a watch running with a new battery... I'm not entering the automatic side anytime soon, that need fine fingers, and with my massive hotdog fingers, it'll just end badly with mustard source everywhere :-P I spotted a very unusual Diesel watch a few months ago, and missed the auction... it was a chronograph with a really nice 70's style... missed the auction by a whole day by the time I remembered! Not sure what all your watches look like, am not a guru in every watch, unless the ones I use, but it's nice to have selection, and I do like my secondary market deals, as some of them with their new pricing is often way too much. AVI-8 are a coming brand, had one a few years ago, and really thought it was made really well, had some Vostok's too, but at the moment I'm looking more into vintage ana-digi's, more with regards to Citizen, so will be making a video at one point about them :) Thank you for your support and sub, just keep the bell icon lit, as I'm not posting as much as I was with one video a week, just takes too much time with my workload and other interests, as I put such detail into them and it can take days if not weeks to make... thanks again and I'm sure we'll chat again :))

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman This new Mudman is everything that you have explained and has put g-shock into newer capabilities of what they could be providing down the line. As a pure battery powered analog quartz watch with perpetual calendar this g-shock has no competition. At 93 grams it is 1 gram lighter than my Rangeman 9400. The app with its Bluetooth technology and connection to the watch is a big plus too. Its short coming is its screen for the information this watch is capable of providing. This new Mudman is still a great accomplishment of the newer technology available today, and like yourself I would recommend it to others without hesitation. Also the lume by itself is quite good, but the lighted dial is over-kill and a draw back in by opinion. @@artemisXsidecross I've already composed a new G-Shock, and with the addition of an external charging, this might be a great option, especially those who cane these ABC watches... it doesn't take too long to get a solar G-Shock down to 'M' when the sensors are having a good time under the fingers... solar watches are good when maintained and used in a sparingly way as to their manual, but using the compass for a whole day, does draw the cells from the battery... I would see a two battery setup being useful, with an easy access opening to the non rechargeable battery, like on SWATCH watches for an example... but to be honest, replacing a battery isn't rocket science along with a gasket, do them all the time and it's actually enjoyable seeing it from that side :))

That's great to hear you're wearing the GWG-1000 everyday, I must say for a big watch, it does wear well... no slipping off the wrist bone either :) The GG-B100 still offers more functions, especially the Barometer side with the graph combo's and how it syncs with the phone... but without the phone it's still an amazing watch, and the price is really good, and for me gives many ABC G-Shocks are running competition! But the GWG-1000 is tough solar, but not just tough solar, but the fact that the hands are independent, so when hand shifting on the GWG-1000 it's often much quicker...In my review, I won't be going down that path which is better, this is more about what the watch offers more to you, it's not about opinions, this has to be pushed out... but what makes the GWG-1000 so great, that's where I need to explore, and owning one will give me that answer :)) Cheers for the feedback too my friend :))

Hello and HaPpY New Year and such a joy to see a comment from you... now what are you in need of with regards to a Garmin GPS watch? Now you do know that the GPR-B1000 will out live and be the most reliable of any smart watch of today... smart watches are current and do offer the most, but they do need updates and will at one point need a cable to feed their hunger. Now if you use it wisely then they last really well... I use my Fenix 6 Pro just for the GPS mapping, so lasts a good time between charges. I think the Instinct performs better on the solar side, and I think DC Rainmaker and that other guy with 'fit' in his title do cover this, both great guys and show how it is :) For me, Rangeman is the winner, just because it's made so rugged :)) Cheers :))

Mrs Rangeman wears her's everyday and loves it, and it still looks great. For the value upon features for a smart GPS watch, this is the tops. It's also tough and has a fantastic display. The G-Squad I feel could be too large for workouts... I've not tried other brands, as I tend to stick with solid makes that give support, but feel CASIO offer the better service. The Instinct communicates with the app very well, and you also can plan routes if you want to use it in the field later. It gets a huge thumbs from me lets say :)

An Excellent movie! I can't find a more detailed review of GG-B100 than this one. It is one of a kind at the moment. Admirations! My favorite part is where you switch off the functions you don't use. An Excellent way to reduce the cluttering of mode button function. Use what you want, depending of the situation and need at the moment. This definitely increases the Versatility factor of the watch in my opinion. As I've mentioned before - I love helicopters, and I will go for GR-B200 because of that. Hope, it will be available when I'm financially ready to pull the trigger (EST 3-4 months).

Just ordered mine and watching videos like this are helping hugely, one thing I have noticed is no videos seem to show people wearing the watch when doing things, or setting things up. when wearing it can't be easy to move the hands out of the way, pushing two buttons at the same time etc. do people take the watch off all the time? I can't see myself doing that. Yours is the best video I have seen so far, by a long way

Cheers buddy for the feedback... The live tutorial at the end worked better removing the watch to film, otherwise I can't get the angle as my wrist isn't like a owls head LML but in reality it works brilliantly on the wrist, and hitting both buttons for the backlight is easy on the wrist. How are you enjoying it now a week has passed? It's been my most worn G-Shock since I bought it.... has all I need and much more. I will be doing another video with regards to battery only verses solar with details to why battery can be better over solar. Think it's an important side, as for a few they don't see beyond solar, which I can understand, but there's a very good point behind the GG-B100 being battery only. The Barometer is epic, and the best I've used across both G-Shock and Casio in general. Thanks again and glad my massive video helped ;)

Great detailed video! Thanks for this! Quick question, at the Temperature TEMP - Tutorial segment, if you are wearing the watch outside, and the temperature is 50 degrees according to your phone but your watch reads 70 degrees, will adjusting the temperature down 20 degrees maintain a correct temperature? As in your body always warms it up 20 degrees but your adjustment will maintain an actual temperature reading?

Thanks for the most comprehensive review on the net! Can I make waypoints and record a log if I am not paired to the phone? Maybe pair them later to view the route? Seems like if you are out all day this would drain your phone battery.
@WatchUP69MrRangeman
@WatchUP69MrRangeman 3 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy... well thank you firstly for your feedback, much appreciated :)) So think of the GG-B100 as a trigger to the phone, much like how a selfie stick works... the phone is already connected to the network so won't use that much more energy, as it works while in standby. The watch can only store the REC side of the Altimeter which is 14 saving Date/Time/Altitude, but when connected then this data gets transferred to the phone which can show the location in coordinates along with a map of that area. The GG-B100 isn't stand alone on this side, needs the phone to. Now, the GPR-B1000 does this, and you can use the point memos from the watch to make waypoints, it's kind of primitive, but you can make it work. Now, if you're wanting more from your hikes/walks, then maybe try a Garmin Instinct, used ones are really cheap now, and I must say, for the money and for what you get, this does leave G-Shocks in the dark ages... but it's a smart(ish) watch, so will have an end of life in about 10yrs maybe, but it's about the now and what you need the most with regards to data and having a stand alone watch. If I need stand alone, then the GPR-B1000, Fenix 6Pro and the Instinct. The GG-B100 has the best Barometer in the G-Shock world, and for an everyday watch it's just perfect :) Hope that helps you my friend :)) Cheers!

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman Thanks for your insight. Let me explain what I was thinking. I am an assignment photographer that is on a quest for the perfect travel watch. The GG-B100 and the PRT-B50 both tick off many of my boxes. I love the easy way to change time zones, the compass, the barometer and even the sunrise and sunset. All those functions could be pretty handy in the field while shooting an assignment. If that was all I needed, I might even go with the PRG-600. I love the clear and legible dial on that watch the best of all of them. However, that watch is not Bluetooth, so it lacks many handy features. It doesn't show the city name digitally. My site isn't what it used to be, so reading the tiny city codes around the bezel isn't always easy. Sorry I digress. I have found that the GG-B100 and the PRT-B50 create a GPX file in their respective apps. This is useful for me, as I can export that file and then import it into Adobe Lightroom and sync it with any photos I took with my camera (not cell camera) while the log was running. This works if the camera and the phone's time are the same. By doing this, I can tag the photos with the GPS location. Yes, the app does this with photos from the phone, but I am talking from my Fujifilm GFX, a 50mp professional camera. I currently use an app that allows me to do this, but it drains much of the phone's battery if I am shooting all day. I've had my phone die on several occasions doing this with the geotagging app. So that's a very long explanation why I wonder if having the watch logging (linked to the phone) for a long time (as in 8+ hours) uses up a lot of the phone's battery throughout the day?

If you mean the GPR-B1000 Rangeman, then this is no longer in production... not sure to why, but CASIO have mentioned when they discontinue it's usually because of a new version, but in this case, there's no mention of a new Rangeman! There are some used ones around, with some good deals especially if it has been looked after with all the box and papers, so if you really want one, then there's a solution. I feel the GPR-B1000 was stopped due to production costs, it simply has a lot of body and functions, and is still the only GPS navigational G-Shock that isn't a smart watch, so won't become like a smart watch after 7 or so years :)) CA is always sunny, but at the moment here in the UK it's sunny :)) Cheers!
