Absolutely spot on...the Oceanus is an exceptional value. After two years I’ve yet to find anything negative to say about this gem. As for accuracy - I use this to set all my mechanicals...the Rolex, the Omega, the Breitling, the Mont Blac, - even the 60 year old Seamaster and the 75 year old Gallet chronometer. If you’ve ever been a mechanical snob who would rather not even consider looking at a quartz watch...this is the one that will convert you.

Thank you so much Sir. Indeed is exceptional value. The more experience I had with other watches specially my friends Swiss luxury pieces the more I appreciated my Oceanus. Is nice to get the seal of approval from somebody who has an extensive experience with swiss luxury watches. Hopefully in the future I can bring one of those 4K higher end Oceanus and review it. I only saw them in shelves so far but they are definitely are a lot more impressive.

How is the titanium holding up? I used to have a cheaper titanium watch and it scratches easily. How about this one?
@budg85224 жыл бұрын
Actually I gave this one to my son when I switched to the far thinner Oceanus S5000. I was fortunate enough to find the magnificent 15th Anniversary edition...the one Nick Shabazz got so very aroused by in his review. As for the scratching of the titanium...I never really noticed any on either watch. The coating Casio applies to the case and bracelet titanium seems to work quite well on both of the models. I bought the S5000 because of it’s Bluetooth ability...and also because it’s so remarkably light on the wrist. In my judgement both watches are excellent choices in the quartz segment of the watch community.

This watch tells the time with absolute precision. It is made from premium materials. It is robust with 100m of water resistance. It is finished to an extremely high standard. It will fit most wrists and look good in any social setting, from the beach to formal occasions. It is solar powered and once set never needs manual adjustment unless travelling to a different time zone. For the money, it is the ultimate go anywhere, do anything watch. Other models are available with more bling or complications, but for simply telling the time this is The One!

Got it today after waiting for my buddy to come back from Japan. Excellent watch for the price. Titanium bracelet is very comfortable ( was a pain to shorten, collars were giving me a hard time). Under 40xmagnification I have spotted only a little droplet of white paint on the hour hand which was out of place, besides that watch is perfect. Quite impressive is how they managed to put the lettering on the dial, it's hovering some hundreds micrometers above it casting shadow on the watchface. Quite amazing, never seen anybody else doing something like this yet.

Thanks a lot David I'm very glad to hear!! I had to read the manual a couple of times because as you mention is a set and forget watch. I also have it on automatic and i guess is easy to forget the functions because unless you live in a place where your watch doesn't get the radio waves you'll never have to set it manually.
@zioo31175 жыл бұрын
I have a few watches and this one is by far the most accurate. This video exceeds the one by Nick Shabazz in terms of explaining all of the functions and breaking down how the watch is built. After the full Shabazz I found a way to access the Japanese market and sent my debit card to the vendor and was pleased to have the watch sent directly from Japan to my address. Instructions, an original new watch case inside of a protective outer box arrived. The watch was set for Tokyo time. I used a magnifier to look at all the markings and compared them to the instructions and then followed the instructions to set. I've had mine for about a year and it still is spot on within less than a second of computer controlled or cell phone time. Thus it is receiving the signal from the atomic clock and self adjusting. Unlike the video I don't know how much time it gains or loses, but when ever I check it, it seems to be perfect. It is light and very comfortable most of the time. Occasionally it slips down on my arm and gets too tight, but I have the same problem with most watches except with soft bands that are perfectly, "set-up."
@watchroll33105 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing! I adjusted my watch tighter and it doesn't slips down anymore, but it does slips down when is a little loose. Thank you so much Alex! I hope you enjoy that watch as much as I do.

No matter what the watch just never looks out of place and always lies underneath the radar while I'm me to be spot-on accurate with the time. Keep up the great work👍

The only gripe is the sedcond hand movement is not as what usually a mechanical watch moves. Yes it ticks on the right seconds, but it is not beautiful to look at. *Correction sir! After you set the date and the month, the YEAR setting follows.* *•**11:33**-**11:44**: Hour hand on the 1 is for Teen (one Ten); minute hand on the 9. Hence the year the timepiece is set to is 2019. Hour hand on the 2 is for 20; minute hand at 12 o’clock is for 0. Hence the year is 2020. If the Hour hand was on 3 and the minute hand on 7, the year would read as 2037. Simply put, the hours hand is read in tens; the minutes hand you read as ones.* *Complicated? Yes. But not impossible to comprehend. The calendar year goes from 2000 to 2099.*
@tarheelred7 ай бұрын
*The month setting is similar to the year setting with this difference: Beginning with the 1 hour index, each month of the year corresponds to the hour number index. January is the 1 hour index. The 3 hour mark is for March. June is the 6 hour mark. Finally, 12 o’clock while in the month setting is for December.* 😊 *Just remember that in these analog Casios where you have day, date, month, and year functions, you set the month before setting the year.*

@watchroll33105 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! If you get it you will not regret it. The lume is great for a dress watch. Is very evenly applied and last a long time comparable to swiss luxury lume and considering that is not covering a large area like a diver would do. Seiko lume is brighter but this onceanus blue lume looks luxurious and I was always able to read the time in total darkness. Casio premium watches have a distinct type of lume "neo-brite". They are very evenly applied.

More than 5 times. A stainless steel quartz Royal Oak without complications is already more than 5 times as expensive. To be honest I didn't knew much about Casio appart from their digital watches expertize until a friend bought a "cheap" (€300) eqb-1000d : I took the watch and absolutely couldn't find a single error in the finish, just like this oceanus in this video their is not a single misalignment, not a single error of finish, symetry is perfect...etc....I couldn't believe my eyes that such finish quality could be offered for only €300, I have €1000 citizen ecodrive chronograph and that €300 edifice watch just looks as premium as my citizen.... Trying to learn more about non-digital Casio and found this video. Was already VERY impressed by the edifice line, the Oceanus line just blows my mind. Damn I considered Citizen unbeatable when it came to value.......looks like Casio might be the real King of value.

Absolutely loooove this piece. The way those indexes glint blue under the right angles is especially appealing to me, but I just may above all love the fact that this is none other than a Casio, a brand I know I certainly more readily associate with G-Shocks, calculator watches, and other affordable resin-cased digital watches.

Thanks a lot! Yes I had several Edifice. I think is a good concept for racing chronographs and so. I had an Edifices diver before but it was the same level as the Casio duro. Edifices can vary in quality a lot depending on the price. Some have high end specs but they don't go as high as oceanus can go. So it really depends on the specific model.

How long does the power reserve last you? Where I live, winter is pretty long so my current Seiko Solar watch with a V157 (which supposedly has 10mo reserve, doubt it) battery dies out at some point towards December/January despite my efforts to keep it charged. During the summers, I keep it charged all the time and in sunlight whenever I can so as to keep the solar battery charged. I only spent $300 on that Seiko, but the Oceanus S100 will run me $700 CAD. I really don't want to deal with the headache of worrying about if the watch will make it through winters or not - what are your experiences w the power reserve specifically?

@watchroll33105 жыл бұрын
The watch is not scratch proof, is not as good as ceramic or saphire, but is definitely better than any others stainless steel. I think those who have this model all scratch up is because they super abuse it. Maybe because is only around 600$ I don't think they will dare to abuse a Rolex the same way but you can definitely scratch more any other steel watch than this. I had many other steel watches that got scratches on the bracelet section under the clasp where the steel is constantly rubing against eachother from normal wearing while this Oceanus took a long time to start showing up some marks under the clasp. There was many occasions where I thought I was gonna get a scratch but the watch held up.

The watch that you are reviewing - S100 - has multiple motors? Why? "Perfex Multi 3000" is also found in several Citizen "calibres" (modules) 10.5mm thick.

Usually quartz watches has one motor that moves all the hands. This one has a motor for each hand so they move independently
@thomaslinton57653 жыл бұрын
@@watchroll3310 Yes. And it does not have five "hands." If you count the date as a "hand" it has four.

@@thomaslinton5765 You have to understand it in context. At that time I was talking about Oceanus as a brand and different models that do have 5 motors. This S100 has 4.

Did the battery last the entire 4 years?

It's a solar watch, so no need to deal with the battery--at least for a decade or two.

I normally only go for mechanical watches but I'll admit I like the Oceanus T200S. Do you think they will they produce an improved version (improved bracelet micro adjustment, screws rather than pins in the bracelet, cleaner dial with less text). I'll admit I'm not sure whether I prefer titanium over steel - I think I like a little heft on my watches. I'll be aiming to wear it at weekends when I play a lot of tennis (mechanical watches haven't done well here and I can't afford Nadal's RM) so Seiko's tough mvt appeals.

I own this watch and I love it. A couple of downsides: the size. When I got the watch I was very dissappointed how small it is. The strange thing is, when you put it on your wrist it does not look small, when you take a picture of the watch while on your wrist it even looks huge. Very odd. The 'tough mov.' branding was not necessary. It does not reveal the 'tough solar' feature, so why revealing the movement? I've been told that every of the three hands has a different motor. Is that true? One tip for everyone who gets one: everything is already set into auto mode. So you don't have to do anything manually (well if you country does not have DST, then you should switch that).

Though mvnt means it has solar, atomic, shock resistant and other things included. Is just like omega lables "co-axial" or "spring drive"

Amd to think mechanical watch snobs try to look down on this line!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 The precision and work that goes into an Oceanus is FAR greater then a mechanical watch
