Absolutely drawn in my friend... I couldn’t stop watching as I have the same watch... can’t agree more, but personally and in my opinion this S100 is better finished than 95% of Swiss watches... you say ‘Swiss’ but are they? The Oceanus have pride and honour to make lovely things, I feel the Swiss watches have become just a money making empire taking advantage of being Swiss stamped... with that 60/40% it makes my thoughts wonder to exactly what are the truths... I’ve not heard anything with regards to factory defects with Oceanus unlike BOLEX that seem to have many issues... on the price there isn’t a watch that can match it, and it’s not just the polishing from Grand SEIKO, they make the cases and bracelets so very special indeed. The movement is just for this S100, unlike ETA and Sellita that are used in the millions of brands... brilliant video, and please leave a comment on my tutorial with a link and I’ll pin it to the top of the comments. Anyone who disagrees is wrong, and that scratched up Oceanus must’ve been done with a diamond disc cutter continuously for 69 days, there’s no way it could look like that on the wrist, he would be missing his arm that’s for sure! Massive thumbs my friend and thanks for sharing ;)

Thank you so so much! Yes! Too many swiss brands have the same movements inside and relatively unreliable. The swiss great at branding. "Automatic movements have soul and quartz don't"? I even felt some automatics are empty and my oceanus movement have more soul. There is a lot more into it. 👍✨

@@watchroll3310 When winding a automatic and you don't see the second hand moving, then you see two souls lifting, and one of them is yours LML :-P It's the Swiss images shown with white coats on lovely wooden benches, with old style loops with them always screwing something down in a room that's completely empty in a building that's the size of a stadium LML Meanwhile in Japan at the Oceanus factory ten people all around a work station using precision tools wearing head gear and masks so their flaky dandruff and beard food doesn't fall into the movements and dials... the room is filtered and sterile and even their shoes are antistatic! Back in the Swiss location somewhere in the alps with some snow and a cow, is showing a old room with a guy who is most likely not Swiss assembling metal parts that are also not 100% Swiss pretending to take 382 days to assemble a date complication... parts are hidden from view in the millions, and all the other workers laying flat on the floor, as they want that shot with one guy who makes everything by hand! Back in Japan the modules are being partially assembled by micro bots which measure against numbers that don't use tolerances as this is a too much of a large scale... Mooooving back to the Swiss mountain air the containers for leather straps are reversing into the docking stations, man with a cigarette drives a forklift which he uses to move the pallets... The Japanese sunset is near to complete and the cooling air is now the perfect temperature to smelt titanium... dials are being decorated with every marker being placed perfectly... no failure at this point, in fact their isn't a person who does this as they get it right at the start... It's midday in Switzerland and everyone has to take an hours silence while eating... but the machine that stamps out the tin gears is having a misalignment issue which is going to cost the company a few Toblerone's... but the foreman says it's just a few teeth missing so chuck them in for the watches that are for the Swiss as nobody Swiss buys these watches anyway... A good day at Oceanus as 25 OWC-S100's are fully assembled and ready to dispatch... area is cleared as the next order is for MRG's. Back in Geneva as it's always Geneva as everyone thinks it's the capital of CH, the QA team have their work cutout as 3000 watches await for inspection and it's Friday afternoon... team leader of QA says to test 10 and the rest just pass... forklift driver is now on the QA and has clumsy hands, but it's ok, they have springs in the movements to take the shocks. Now, I have no idea if this is true, but my thoughts work like this :)

I have just received mine from Japan and to say I am happy with it is an understatement , I am thrilled , this is by far the best watch in my small collection, the bracelet not being changeable was never a deal breaker for me , after all it's titanium and really suits the watch and I personally am more than happy , although I do understand some people would like the choice, Casio could also maybe given a couple more micro adj. and perhaps a safety clasp on the clasp, but still super happy.

The S100 is simply one of the best watches on the market period. However there are a couple of minor issues such as the non-changeable bracelet (would be nice to put on leather or rubber strap) and 'Tough Mvt' text (I think it is alright but a lot of other people have issue with it). The new T200 model fixes these issues but that watch is heavier steel and is bigger. I love Oceanus but the high end models have a little bit too busy and have large dials. I would love to see an classic 3 hand Oceanus in the $1,000-$2,000 price range to go head on with 'The Citizen Chronomaster" and Grand Seiko quartz models.
@watchroll33104 жыл бұрын
Good perspective! I personally like the "Tough mvt" Text as its like "spring drive" or "Co-axial" The non changeable bracelet is a little bit of an issue for me too. I wish I could have the option to swap it even I don't plan to change it. Yes a high end Oceanus to go head on with the chronomaster or GS would be great! I sent a letter to Oceanus stating if they do a 300m professional high end 40mm slim diver it would be amazing. I also really wish for a chronomaster diver.

1:22 I would like to correct some points here.. 1. "More difficult to manufacture"- True. 2. "Stronger than steel"- False. It just has a higher strength-to-weight ratio as compared to steel. 3. "More scratch resistant than steel"- False. Stainless steel is harder than Titanium alloys, unless there's a carbide or nitride coating on it. 4. "More corrosion resistant than steel"- True.
@watchroll33105 минут бұрын
When it comes to regular titanium all of the above are true but casio's high intensity titanium is a different story. High intensity Titanium compared to 316 L stainless steel is stronger and supposedly harder. Here is some info: "1. Tensile Strength (Absolute Strength) Grade 5 Titanium: Tensile strength: 900-1,200 MPa. Yield strength: ~800-970 MPa. Steel: Mild Steel: ~400-550 MPa (weaker than titanium). Stainless Steel (e.g., 316): ~500-700 MPa (weaker than titanium). High-Strength Steel (e.g., 4140 alloy, tool steel): Can range from 1,000 to 2,000 MPa (often stronger than Grade 5 titanium)." "Yes, "high-intensity titanium" is generally considered harder than 316 stainless steel; while the hardness of both metals can vary depending on the specific alloy, high-intensity titanium is designed to be significantly harder, often with a hardness level much higher than standard titanium alloys, making it considerably harder than most grades of 316 stainless steel. Key points to remember: High-intensity titanium: This is a special type of titanium alloy with enhanced hardness and wear resistance, often used in high-end watchmaking. 316 stainless steel: While considered a relatively hard stainless steel, it generally has a lower hardness compared to high-intensity titanium" Although other sources would say grade 5 titanium is not as hard as steel. It really depends on the type of alloy.

My S100 has just ruined me for other watches. My watchbox now just sits there, filled with various automatics and quartz watches, unopened day after day. One of my clients has a Rolex Milgauss that I used to really like but now it just looks plain and overpriced in comparison. I'm saving up for a slim Manta and probably going to sell most of my meager collection now. By the end I'll have just two watches, an S100 and a Manta - both Casio Oceanus models. Well, maybe I'll keep a MWW Rattler field watch so I'll have a decent tough automatic if an EMP goes off in the area and fries the Casios' electronics. The S100 everyday "beater" at work and the Manta for dress and other events. I like how Casio just calls them all "Oceanus" and that's it, without splashing a model name on the dial. Since the cases are all finished, polished, and inspected by hand I completely understand why they're only sold in Japan and only for a limited amount per model - volume. Doing things by hand like this means you can't rapidly churn out tens of thousands of each model every few months. These things are heavily-underrated and unknown gems in the watch world. Another sleeper series are the Lineage all-Titanium Wavecepter models, but I'm not sure if those are even made anymore.

@watchroll33104 жыл бұрын
Many times is the angle that makes the second hand to appear misaligned. Check it looking at it from the back of the seconds hand to the front in relation to the markers that's the only way to make sure 100%. By the way no regular watch maker can work on this movements as they are much more complex than regular quartz. Take gear slack in consideration too. Quartz are made with a gap on the gears on purpose for the health of the movement. Thermal expansion, shocks, fluidity.

They can go for even 15 years without replacing the rechargable battery mainly. A capacitor would last longer and the solar panel can last a lifetime depending of it's use. If you leave it in the sun and is burning hot constantly then it won't last that much.
