I took my old px160 piano apart so much I’ve become a pro a losing screws in it.

Thank you , your video was a great help . One key was not sounding intermittently,problem solved , it was grease at contact point. Worth the frustration regarding disassembly.

Great video - thanks for making it! I fixed my broken key (turned out to be spilled soda/sugar) and can now play again!!

Thanks a lot. I learned a lot from your trial and error as you struggled to insert the white keys.

At 12min10 how to get white key in again, I'm putting a Casio PX350 together again and trying to get white keys to go back in, did you need to open the back?
@fozzymcfozfoz Жыл бұрын
No, I did not need to open anything. If the PX350 is made the same way, there should be several openings in the back of the keys to show the action going up when pressing down on the white key. All i did was stick my fingers inside the opening where the actions go up, held down the action, and then pressed the white key down until the white key locked into place. A piano fixing expert might have had a better way, but that's how did it in the video.

I found that the easiest way to replace the white keys was to remove them entirely, which is not hard to do using a flat-head screwdriver to help open where it is seated in the back. I then inserted the front part of the key into place and then snapped the back part of the key back in. This seemed the most natural way to do things.

My ribbon for the keybed is damaged I am not getting any sound I tried playing with the ribbon in the port and I got a sound but it went away right after How can I fix this
@fozzymcfozfoz4 ай бұрын
@@ProdbyNKA depends on the damage. if it's a tear to the ribbon, it would need to be replaced. Or maybe if it's loose connection then need to properly connect it. Need to inspect the ribbon, connections, ports and see if the pins are not broken or bent

Hey, when u put back the white keys, i think i got how you did. But i had to remove them all to clean it, and some of those mecanism can't be reached by the hand from behind... So i'm stuck with around 20 white keys i can't clip in.. Do you have any tip ?
@fozzymcfozfoz8 ай бұрын
If I'm understanding you correctly, you are unable to lock in the keys because you can't access some of the action from the back because they're are only so many openings to reach inside without a full disassembly of the metal guard. There was a few that I had to really reach inside deep with my fingers and it was challenging, but possible One quick solution, without a full disassembly, is to maybe find something that slides and curve inside the opening and weight down the action while press down the key. Or find a person with really long skinny fingers 😂 I'll have to film a disassembly video for problems like this

This is super interesting and useful. I'm having a different problem with my PX-160 and just seeing how you took it apart was helpful. Do you have any photos or footage of what the line out assembly looks like?
@fozzymcfozfoz4 ай бұрын
@@TaePhoenix I don't think I do but I'll try to over the raw footage. I was more focused on the cleaning. But i am planning to try to take it apart again.

I have this piano and I took it apart because I spilled soup in it… Got it all cleaned up but screwed up when I got the hammers all mixed up. How to I know what order to put them back in?😔
@fozzymcfozfoz9 ай бұрын
The C key and F key might look the same. D, G,A might be the same, and B, E might look the same. They have the cutout that that allows the black keys to fit inside the keys
@valerieclark74419 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your prompt reply! When I was trying to find the answer online, I just found a site with replacement parts and it said to make sure you check which zone on the keyboard… I currently have 88 hammers in a pile and I’m not sure what to do now!

@@valerieclark7441 like a jigsaw they only fit a certain way... I can make a video showing you the key and the shapes so it's easier to put together once they are organized It's easy when you know what to look for But I can't remember...I think the keys had markings on them? Did you check your keys had any wording? I should also mention. That if you cleaned off the grease from the keys you will need to replace piano grease on the keys

I rewatched my video and the keys were labeled at the top near where the keys slide in. White keys follow an order of A21 B21 C21 D21 E21 F21 G21 A21 ... it keeps repeating that all the way to the end I can't read the black key labels very well from my phone. But I'll look more into what order label the black keys follow
