If you are interested in this one you should definitely get the WSA-H1 clamp. This keeps the charging cable attached and imho should have been included in the box since the connector is so weak.

What would be an average life span of this smart watch? I'm looking for some long lasting watch which looks great below 200$ (15000 INR) Had my eyes on various g shocks but this one looks like a banger for bucks but I'm worried about the lifespan. Should I consider this?

Hi CC, Sorry for my late reply but I was a bit occupied with other stuff. What lifespan? I have a 10 year old Casio and it still works super. Wear OS watches work really well with Android. You can for example use viewranger to create routes on your phone and use them on your watch. You then also can use official topo's. You wont be doing that with a garmin/suunto.
@OutdoorguruGearReviews5 жыл бұрын
Dear Atze, No, not possible. But... I don't consider a watch screen as a user friendly screen for using detailed topo's. But routes is a different ballgame ;-). Cheers, Gijs

Some features I can forgive compared with a more expensive Garmin device I can't just decide not to buy it because of a clumsy cable too lazy to position it correctly to charge We have now F30 which is OLED but this means even more problem under the sun actually because each LED is driven individually. The map function is what matters in the kind of work I do actually so that matters more for me. You put a bad rating on the mechanical feature, not on the function I don't think that is a fair man.

As far as i can tell on the CASIO website the F30 model won't have solar charging. What's more, they are sticking with the magnetic charge terminal (at least i hope with a stronger magnet) and will have an OLED screen and not an LCD type that the F10 and F20 models have. Other than a few cosmetic changes i can not discern any other changes over the f20 model. What i can't find out is if the F30 will have snapdragons new wear OS CPU which is supposed to improve battery life... But CASIO are still only quoting 1.5 days of normal colour screen usage and 1 month of monochrome screen use, so im not sure... Seems like a minor refresh to me....

The 5bar waterresistance of the wsd-f20 is fully enough. You notice, that most of your other outdoorwatches got 200m. What for? Almost sportdivers are not going deeper than 40m. So, what is the purpose of 200m waterresitance for a outdoorwatch, especially when you not dive? In my opinion just marketingtalk and you are sitting on the same horse. Nobody needs that.
@OutdoorguruGearReviews6 жыл бұрын
Oh hell yes it counts. It is a 500 euro watch so I make the compression to the competition. That's all, no marketing. I do agree that it is pointless because of nobody going that deep. But is has also got to do with water and pressure for example canyoning and waterfalls. Still don't now what pressure you would need in a watch... And I would buy a dive watch if I was a diver ;-) Cheers, Gijs
