As a cabinetmaker, I encourage the use of mallets- not hands - to seat components. Why? I have known many associates who, after years of using hands instead of the appropriate tool for hammering, suffered nerve damage. One will not feel the damage until years of using the hands, but it will catch up to them. Use a mallet, use a mallet, use a mallet.

I was a panel beater (Bump and paint man) since 15 years old and I'm 70. Those hammer and dolly's have taken a toll on my hands and fingers. I have another older panel beater who suffers the same.

Bob, don't be so thin skinned. I live in Tell City, am a woodworker, and will be buried in one of your boxes. But, your craftsmanship is basic. And, I do not use a C&C machine to parts. Also, I do not use a nail gun for quality joinery. Your beveled dovetail tops are great. Also. it is deceptive to let the public think these caskets are built by monks. You are an off site business that sells through the Abbey store.

You can use it many times. Just dump the contents into the grave and cover with dirt. Make sure not to push the lid dowels all the way in. Makes it easier to remove them. Then you can use as a coffin table in the living room. Good for extra storage also. When needed again, just empty, place next occupant in, after funeral, repeat, then use as coffin table storage unit again.

This also meets a need for a casket for Jewish burial. The traditional requirement is that a simple pine casket should decay along with the body, and so return naturally to the Earth. No metal should be used for the construction.

Is it better to spend thousands of dollars on something she will never see or appreciate? I say it will mean a whole lot more to her to say I love you mom while she's still living, don't you? And I will add, although this is a personal opinion, I don't think this is even a bad looking coffin. Yes, it would sure look even better if we were all buried in black and white ebony, but this doesn't look bad at all.
@lorriemiller6750
@lorriemiller6750 4 жыл бұрын
It is a real casket and why spend so much just for the casket when you don't have to because even metal caskets do not last forever and natural materials are eventually going to break down and are better for the environment.

@@cheemsdoge977 the body cannot fall. The dovetail design of all the parts far exceeds any weight that a human that fits into the shown casket could possibly achieve. It is a very nice engineering design. It distributes the weight across hundreds of stress points so that each point has no more than a pound or two of stress.
