I lost the love of my in March, she was only 30, we were together for 15 years. She’s the one that actually got me into this type of music. So this song in it’s entirety I felt in my soul.

This song for me, at the end before I even saw the music video when he says “I’ll see you again with my own two eyes, cross my heart and hope to die” made me think of when my wife miscarried with our daughter. I never saw her, never got to hold her, I don’t know what she would look like but that line hit me like a train because someday I will see her for the first time with my own eyes and hope that I know in my heart who she is. That she knows who I am.

When Josh mentions the dreams about losing a loved one, it just reminds me of the time I lost my grandad, and can’t lie, it set me off 😢 don’t think I’ve ever properly mourned about the loss cuz I was only 9 at the time, but still miss him 13 years later

Saw these guys on the weekend in Melbourne...Matt was sobbing during the bridge and had to take a moment after the song ended. I think we can all relate to that. The worst part of losing someone is that brief moment after waking where you have to remember that they're gone all over again

And whatever you went through, man, I am Sooo sorry. Loss sucks Sooo much. I have voicemails from my grandfather before he passed, and they are just normal stuff, "Call me when you can" sort of thing, i can't listen to them, but I keep them so my kids can hear their great grandfather's voice, even though he isn't with us anymore...Man, now I'm about to cry...😭

It definitely sounds like the song has a twofold meaning. It could pass as a break-up song, but the last verse, “For you we still live on,” sounds like it’s also about losing loved ones to death. This song reminds me of The Stages of Grief by Awaken I Am. Another fantastic song.
