Western river rainbows are the hardest fighting fish anywhere. Good job guys, very entertaining video.

Farmer Bob, you obviously haven’t caught or fished native Alaskan rainbows in our fall!😉👍

Love Wyoming but can’t stand to watch ppl mishandling trout. I never once saw a wet hand touch a fish. 90% of them will die if disease because of slime removal.

y do you have barbs

Most of that stretch of river flows through private land. In Wyoming, land owners own the river bottom, and you can’t even legally touch the river bottom in those areas. So you definitely can’t get out and wade fish anywhere you want, unless you have permission from the land owner.

If you go with a guide they will, hopefully, know where the private land is and have permission for fishing on it. Guides usually pay land owners to fish their land.

You want some “real arm tiring”, try wild Alaskan rainbows in September at Bristol bay river tributaries in true wilderness setting fishing alongside huge AK brown bears!😉😂😳

The one thing that aggravates me is that you fail to wet your hand time and time again, from in the boat to walking. I can’t help but think you’re getting lazy and not wanting to bend over to dip your hand in the water. Don’t let your physical shape determine the survival rate of your releases, please.

Appreciate your feedback. To note, this video was shot 15 years ago when we knew much less about the importance of wetting hands. Today we endeavour to always wet our hands when handling trout. Thank you for the reminder

My favorite form of fishing is the kind of fishing where people from out of state don’t come take all the good trout out of the waters 😀
