It is always the same in dictatorships. If you criticizes the leader, you end up in jail or killed. Therefore no one will call out dumb decisions. One of the reasons Chinas economy is hitting the wall right now. I know people often complain about capitalism. But capitalism in democratic countries is simply the superior system in the long run. Mistakes getting corrected earlier in a free market. And of course there are things to improve even in those countries, but people sure get more out of it than in dictatorships.

Sad Story. Egypt, Weaker than ever, because the Nile is Drying up and the Red Sea is not a Safe place to Trade, find themselves forced to efffectively Sell a Colony to the Rich UAE. Yes, the benefits mentioned are considerable, it probably is still a deal Egypt should take. But it is still Sad that things Have Come to This for Egypt.

Okay so for a start the north west area of Egypt's Mediterranean coast isn't deserted, as someone living in Egypt and works in the real estate industry, that area has a very old city called Marsa Matrouh that been living for decades and has one of the most beautiful seawater in the globe. Between Marsa Matrouh and all the way to the end of Ras El Hekma there is so many Egyptian powered development exiting and even more under construction that sum to more than 15K acres along the shore of the Mediterranean sea. Secondly The area of Ras El Hekma has had very small developments since King Farouk in the 1940's and has been recognized since then as a beautiful spot with beautiful sea waters and beautiful white sands, so there has always been the concept of transforming it at some point to be one of the most attractive tourism hot spots amongst all the countries and cities overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Lastly it really gets on my nerves how you pronounce Emirates!

They control Socotra in the name of their South Yemen client state in Aden, who also have forces there and were certainly not upset. The widely-recognized Yemeni Republic may have been upset that they lost control, but they barely control any territory on the mainland (it’s virtually all controlled by either the Southerners or the Houthis) and thus have little sway in the matter.

The relationship between the UAE and Egypt isn't a business relationship, UAE has been committed to Egypt since the beginning of its time. The UAE & Egypt share a brotherhood relationship, we share the same fate, and our existence is closely tied. UAE never ever wants to see Egypt fall like the other neighboring countries, and the UAE is willing to do everything to keep Egypt standing strong.

11:51 That's a mistake Egypt were never in an alliance with the Sudanese RSF, actually there were an incident were the RSF captured some Egyptian soldiers that were stated in Sudan and even had it on video, so in this matter the UAE and Egypt are actually on the opposite side of the Sudanese civil war which makes the Ras Al Hekma deal more and more awkward.

Meanwhile, the Greek-Egyptian-Israeli-UAE axis could have been mentioned too, which in essence has the objective of flanking Turkey over control of Eastern Med. To be honest, I don't think it was objective presenting Turkey as the sheer military and economic power in the region. It already overstreches and it has benefitted a lot by its role in mediating the Russo-Ukranian grain deals but once this leverage is gone, it might find itself more isolated than before, having strained ties with Europe and some Middle Eastern allies. On the other hand, control over Eastern Meditterenean is part of the Greek grand strategy too and Greece is lurking for any opportunity to secure its position.

Biggest problem of Egypt is too quick population growth. This is unsupported by arable land, thus Egypt needs to sacrifice a lot of its productivity to import food. And the population is growing and growing at a rapid pace. European countries would be glad to receive this population surplus, but there is a problem of cultural incompatibility, namely in the religion of Islam.
@u-36418 ай бұрын
The Egyptians do not want to understand this. The government is tired of telling them about the need to regulate the population and control the rates of increase. Some people who only remember their religion always come up in such topics. “Does goodness come from you or from God?""God told us not to be afraid of poverty due to overpopulation.” Lots of headaches to be in a country like this. Now you're feeding your followers BS. Egypt supports the Rapid Response Forces? It's literally fighting them, Egypt and UAE flanking Saudi? They're the same bloc. Even discussing a "naval base" in Ras Al Hekma? Your imagination has gone far and beyond. Trying to make content from the most miniscule event, this sucked. It's an economic bailout in line with their political alliance. Simply put, Ras Al Hekma is an excuse for UAE to transfer funds to Egypt, it has no strategic value, and you will never hear that name again unless you wanna go swimming. When this happens in Europe it is called an investment, and when it happens in Egypt it is called a sale... I don't know how it can be a sale when the city is under the control of the Egyptian army and police, and all the workers there are Egyptians, and it will bring in taxes to Egypt of 25 billion dollars annually after The project is complete... I always feel that there are many who do not want developing countries to develop... When Egypt established a sophisticated and beautiful capital, they said Egypt would declare bankruptcy, but that did not happen... When Egypt established a nuclear reactor, they said It will cause pollution, but in America, France, England and Israel they call this development... Go Egypt and find your way.❤

People act like America doesn't spend 20 cents of every dollar it generates on its military lol, isn't that also a form of military rule? Is America's supremacy in Nato's affairs a form of imperialism? If Egypt is ruled by its own militaty dictatorship but isn't hiding it under the guise of "democracy" then isn't that more out in the open lol? I certainly don't have any illusions about the corporations and special interest groups that often rule over governments anyway, because debt is the overwhelming power that brings everyone to heel in the end. I find it baffling that you're trying to compare this development in terms of "resource-less potential" with Singapore. Singapore is at the neck of one of the worlds most important shipping route. Of course that will turn it into an important place that doesn't need resources to be valuable. But in Egypt, so far from major trade routes, without oil or gas fields in the immediate vicinity, I fail to see how that can compare.

Something funny going on is this part of the med. All ports were taken out of action except one, Haifa i think. Watch this zone carefully! The actions in Palestine right now also has something to do with this new trade corridor. Watch carefully what is happening around the Suez and also construction around the new Ethiopia and Sudan mega dam. I'm expecting a new production zone in this area from the electricity being generated there now. Possibly a Chinese investment. I'm not sure who put the most money into the project but the answer will be there. This is all part of the recent new world order since covid and brexit changes. Also Libia has been crippled again and again since they killed Gaddafi. It wouldn't surprise me if the recent flood there was encouraged through cloud seeding just at the right moment. America are interested, Europe and the middle east, not to mention China and Israel. While at the same time Russia is fighting for a piece of this new hub and infrastructure for the north south infrastructure / trade corridor and new silk road hubs. Also. Don't forget what is happening with "The Line" The line is clearly a part of the new silk road hub / infrastructure.
