I love how her signature move is just punching people by their necks XD. She would make a good batman game protagonist though. She would have a unique mechanic where she could just kill enemies or subdue them like Batman would. Killing moves would instantly kill low ranking enemies and would cause very high damage to higher ranked enemies. Subduing moves would be much harder and would require combos to be done. If Cassandra kills enough enemies, an achievement would pop up saying "Daddy's proud". If she manages to not kill a single enemy throughout the entire game, the achievement would say "Welcome to the Bat Family".

Tim Drake drugged her before their fight. Batman admits he hasn't beaten Shiva in a straight honest fight. Both Batman and Tim were trained by Shiva. And with Richard Dragon, that was before she was technically Shiva - as Dragon was one of her teachers in the past. And in the new title, their roles are reversed, and it is Shiva who trains and even kills Dragon.

Same plant that gave Dava superpowers, the character that Shiva went around the world chasing after killing the armless and legless master(her teachers). Post-crisis Batman never knew who the hell Shiva was and she took him down in matter of seconds. Pre-crisis was individually defeated by Batman when she was mind controlled by Gorilla Grodd. All the same, despite being mind controlled, her skill's was still the same. It was confirmed!!!! And speaking of Richard being killed by Shiva, he took her down twice. Before, Richard Dragon was no where close too Shiva in skill, when Bronze Tiger started training him. Afterwards? Richard Dragon just happen to be worlds greatest h2h combatant. Despite defecting from the circle of 6, he trained most of them as well. Even when Shiva killed him? Richard Dragon wanted Shiva too kill him. Before?! He turned Neron deal against him and he ended up bringing him back to life. After Shiva struck the death blow!!! That whole match up? When he struck a bargain for commissioner Gordon and Connor Hawke too defect from the Burmese border. He actually defeated Shiva in pure skill alone. And was bout to kill her with her own technique. And speaking of Batman fighting Shiva? Shiva even said it herself that if Batman gave into his killer instinct, that he will defeat her in a duel. Vice versa? Batman said the same thing about Cassandra Cain, that if he fought her all out, she'll defeat him. Daughter surpass the mother big time. And speaking of Shiva being taught by Richard Dragon, that was only during the early issues of comics when Batman actually fought and stalemated Richard Dragon one on one, during their first encounter. He was training under Bronze Tiger, and took Shiva as a student as well. Newer versions?! Shiva and Richard Dragon was only frenemies no more, and no less than that. That was during the time when she actually went around world killing the best fighter's she can find(Connor Hawke is included as well). Arcourse (pre-crisis)? Cassandra Cain actually whoop her twice in a role( Post-crisis manage the same feat again). Pre- crisis? Batman only went too Shiva too gain back his fighting instinct that he lost, when Bane broke his back. Why Shiva? She was the 3rd best fighter in the world, and Batman did not want too travel around the world again seeking instructors to train him again. And during their training sessions when Batman actually defeated her, Shiva told Batman himself, that, he'll have a chance of beating her. If he gave into his killer instinct. Despite Batman encounters with Shiva? She always acknowledge the fact that, she can be defeated by Batman, of chooses too let loose. But, Shiva feat's does make the indomitable fighter in all of DC base on what she can do. After all? Despite Ra's harassing Batman when he gets a chance, he has complete detail knowledge of Shiva abilities, and will never cross her, even if he gets a chance. Post crisis Ra's was stupid enough to do so. Arcourse, he used foul tactic's and took Shiva out with sniper rifle. Due too the fact that he was admittedly afraid of her in head to head competition. Shiva does earn her respect as the most feared antihero, and villain in DC period.

This is one of those times I feel so conflicted, because as an Asian, though Cassandra Cain is cool, she's basically stereotypes. The emotional "stunnedness" is a stereotype of Asian children, for example. I do think Cassandra Cain has a lot of potential, but there needs to be changes in order for her to not be a caricature of the 'strong Dragon Lady' stereotype. And having not only an Asian actor, but an Asian director, can really help smooth over the hurtful and problematic parts of her that unfortunately still exist. This new idea of Cassandra Cain is a really really exciting - and plus, if you don't like them, you don't have to consume any more of the content - but I wish people would see why this is actually probably done with the intention of adding realness and reliability to Asian portrayals in the media 😅

I see what you're saying: but it's worth noting that the Asian and Disability communities have some important thoughts about the troupes and stereotypes actually used in the making of Cassandra Cain. She ends up more as an amalgamation of "badass ideas", instead of seeming like an actual person that one could relate to. Also, another very important point I think is this is one of the first times an actual Asian influenced (the director) the representation of Cassandra Cain, an Asain - so there's probably more thought put into this than what people are assuming, and it might be worth seeing where this character ends up. I get there's a lot of love for this character, but the fact remains that quite a few things about her is problematic - and rather than not seeing the character ever come to life because of the problematic origins, I would prefer something. And I'm excited to see what an Asian woman will bring to the idea of Cassandra Cain - especially because Cassandra is probably someone that can become good representation for a group of people that may not have known she even existed !

I think she has hands down the best Batgirl design, her outfit is just straight up terrifying, and her mouth being covered is a nice touch to her being sort of "mute". This might be something that only I am bothered by, but I don't like Batman's sidekicks being colorful due to Batman's more stealthy approach you know? Batman is dressed in all black to blend in the dark and Robin (depends on which version) just stands out with the bright red, yellow and green. I like Dick Grayson as Nightwing, his outfit remains iconic while not drawing much attention (and it's fitting that he kinda went his own way and not be just a shadow of Batman). Jason has his own style and methods that I don't mind, he is badass. Barbara as Batgirl is a weird one for me, cuz the yellow + blue is very iconic and makes her character recognizable, despite the colors I do like it. But Cassandra, bro she is just on point, she is unique among the Bat Family and terrifying like Batman, perhaps even more than him! If I was a criminal in Gotham and she was the one to show up from the dark, I would shit my pants.

I was in the Comics store business when she was around, but she sold so poorly to my regulars and was also not very well liked at all, that I would order maybe 2 of her book, and end up stuck with them. I don't know how it was in other shops, but I worked in Comics shops for 24 years and the only Batgirl my customers would accept was Barbara Gordon! And they thought it was 🐂something that she was in a wheelchair. In addition to all the scientists in the Super Hero community, there was Martian, Kryptonian, Rann, Thanagarian, New Genesis, Oa'an, and 30th Century technology available! Barbara shouldn't have been in a wheelchair a week! Especially since in Elseworlds just making her a Green Lantern worked! Anyway, I didn't read her comic either, she never sold for me in any store I worked at, and fans even called 🐂something on her being Lady Shiva's daughter, because no one would believe Shiva was anywhere near that old. So, as a result, I learned a lot from this video because I never really paid attention to the character. Thank you for all your hard work! I hope I don't seem horrible, I am just a guy who was reading comics since 1964, had access to comics from 1941 to when I started, and also I worked as manager and eventually owner of Comic book stores from 1984 to 2008. Reboots have totally changed things and stories. My 70 years of comic knowledge has become almost meaningless.
