The Genoshan genocide was a motivator for characters on both sides. Polaris, being one of the few survivors, was pretty messed up after it with PTSD aggravating her bipolar disorder. Cassandra Nova became a little girl named Ernst for the rest of the Grant Morrison run. She was part of the special class with the Beak, Angel Salvatore, and her new best friend Martha AKA No-Girl (The floating brain in a jar). Most readers caught on to Ernst being the former Cassandra Nova because even though she was a little girl she had the face of an old woman. At the end of the run there was an alternate future story called "Here Comes Tomorrow" where Cassandra is a full member of the X-Men and reminisces with Martha about their time as students in the Xavier School before they meet their tragic end.

A VARIANT OF (CASSANDRA NOVA) I IMAGINE COULD EXIST SOMEWHERE IN THE MULTIVERSE WHO ISN’T EVIL: I imagine in one realm, there is a variant of Cassandra, who is not an evil person, but just a wicked person, who’s emotionally unstable. I imagine in this realm, she goes through a set of stages in her life, before she finally comes to a realization. That realization is, that Charles Xavier isn’t her true enemy, but instead she is her own worst enemy. Due to her own jadedness, close mindedness, ego, pride, and due to the secret envy she felt about her brother sometimes. That is what was responsible, for her being a very wicked person, for many years, before she had experience a sudden realization. Once Cassandra Nova, had her sudden realization, she then went on a journey, and during that journey she discovered a hidden undiscovered island. It took her a while, for her to figure out, a safe way to make it to the island, and I imagine once there, she had decided to make it her home. A place that is far away, from things that would upset her, and to be far away from people who would upset her. I imagine within four years, Cassandra Nova, had developed tranquility, discovered she has unknown talents, for doing non violent skills. After she had developed tranquility, she was able to grow hair from her head, and develop new type of mental abilities, that is able to heal any place that is dying due to dangerous substances. Plus to add save any type of wildlife from dying, that was exposed to dangerous substances. But then on one day, she suddenly felt something awful, that some unknown evil entity, is on its way, and had a vision it would change her brother (Charles Xavier). From being a good person mutant, who’s a hopeful, kind, considerate, forgiving guy, and who dreams of a better future. To becoming cruel, vicious, a bit crazy, cold minded, and more violent than what she ever was in her past. After she had her vision, she thought about it for a few hours, then she made the decision to leave, and try to visit her brother, while hoping she doesn’t scare anyone in the process. She feared if she didn’t try to, stop the events from happening, she might need to work with enemies of her brother, in order to kill him, once he does become evil.

If you aren’t familiar with Cassandra’s powers, look her up. Charles has NEVER registered as an omega. Shocking, to be sure but factual. Charles’s brilliance and compassion (and later lack of) is what makes him the star of his team. Between the two titans of Magneto and Professor X, only Magneto is an omega level mutant. Cassandra, however, is a bonafide omega. Her manipulation of particles is on a global scale, there are no limits to her power. It’s kinda fitting that Cassandra be Charles’s foil: he controls the mind, she controls the matter. He is adored by millions, she’s feared by millions. He can craft any mental structure to keep out beings, she can manipulate any object and create anything. Her telekinetic powers are so omnipotent, she can transplant consciousness itself. She can even transport souls if she wanted to. Without his mutant colleagues, Charles would have been destroyed by Cassandra already. The only time he beat her on his own was when they were both in the womb. He just got lucky and had his powers activate earlier. Had it been Cassandra who woke up first, the story of the X-Men would be drastically different.

I’m not trying to bring the mold down so I’ll be vague even though it’ll be obvious what I’m talking about. It’s so good to finally have come back to the channel and to comics/comic movies. I honestly dropped the entire thing after our loss. Wolverine/Deadpool was my re-entry and now this video. Glad to have finally come back home. Hope everyone is having a great day and a good time

In Grant Morrison's finale Here Comes Tomorrow, Cassandra Nova is actually leading the side of the good against the evil bacteria Sublime. It is Sublime who is actually the true villain of Grant Morrison's X-Men run.

Cassandra could bring in new mutants. By putting her in the past, she could soft reboot the mutant side of Marvel, so we get some reworked origins, new but old X-Men teams and dynamics, and generally introduce newer mutants into the once again diluted pool of characters.
