For anyone unawares, Cassandra's website blog articles are wonderfully detailed gems of info worth geeking out on. As a male industrial mechanic turned engineer I was not exposed to skincare information until recently. A random YT recommendation rabbit hole lead me to this channel, and her personality and knowledge has me watching much of her content a few vids a night.

My mom grew up in Taiwan during the 50s and 60s. No one told her about periods. When she got hers, she hid it and cried for DAYS because she thought she was dying. I'm so happy that there are people out there educating young girls on this subject!

EDIT: GUYS PLEASE LIKE THIS DO CASSANDRA CAN SEE IT . Please Cassandra make a video of sunblock recommendations for men with beards (not the thick thick beards where the sun does not go through the skin) but men with stubbles or thin beards like me ) where we have to apply sunblocks on the skin underneath it because the uv rays reach it but we end up with white messy polka dots everywhere that we end up just giving up on sunblocks .

I know mental health is a personal issue but I just want to thank you for being open about it. Your channel has helped me and my daughter SO much! Though we share our heart, my daughter and I don't share DNA so her skin issues have been something that I can't advise her on. We are not able to see a derm (insurance won't cover it) but your channel has made all the difference. Your advice on what might help has really steered her in the right direction. She has now formulated a routine, based on your advice, which is working wonderfully for her. We also appreciate your discussion of your mental health journey. We are both in a transition phase of our lives and we have struggled at times. But your channel has helped her normalize the journey. You have made such a difference! BTW, we have adopted a vegan, cruelty-free lifestyle so it's wonderful to watch a channel where we know all of the products recommended fall in line with our ethics. Thanks you!!!!

Tbh i love your Channel so much, thanks to you and dr dray my skin has gone through a journey I never thought it would go before. As a teenager who has STRUGGLED HARD with cystic acne and lots of post-hyperpigmentation, my self-steem was so low at the point I cried a lot in front of the mirror while picking my skin :’) it’s been rough but you’ve inspired me a lot to actually take care of myself and I thank you so so much for not only educating a lot of people about skincare but also about self love. You’re a beautiful person with a beautiful soul and I hope you’ll continue to grow even more, blessings and hope you’re doing better with your mental health now :) love ur vids! ❤️

Thank you so much for introducing me to acids! I hqve watched your videos for a few years now and have been tweaking my skin care gradually, and I think I have almost mastered it! Yes, I still get hormonal breakouts too or my skin gets irritated from the environment or whatever but it’s never looked so good, if I wear makeup, I never wear foundation, just spot conceal. I laughed yesterday because I told myself I was microdosing acids to gently get my skin back on track after a week or two of neglect (moving, kid starting school after homeschooling several years, career change, music festival, etc). I have more products than I thought I would need but it actually helps me a lot because I can use them when I don’t have time and energy to put on a mask, wait, wash it off, and finish my routine. I rotate through azelaic, salicylic, glycolic, and adapalene. I have two gentle effective cleansers and moisterizer and a host of suncreens and a few peptide options. You’re the best, ps some acids can be great for depression too 😉

25:00 From Wikipedia: _Coccinia_ from the Greek, _kokkinia_ or _kokkinias_ - "red" or "scarlet" Coccinia indica is botanical name of Ivy Gourd. It is also known as Kundru (Hindi), Kovai (Siddha) and Bimbi, Bimbaka (Sanskrit). This plant is native to Central Africa, India and Asia _When the fruit of C. indica is green in colour, it is used as a vegetable, and when it ripens into a beautiful scarlet hue, it is eaten fresh. C. indica's young leaves and branch tips are frequently utilised in traditional medical systems in Asia, including Ayurvedic, Siddha, and Unani_

Mostly brand knowledge, but also some techniques we didn't learn in school. I love herbivore, but they're just so expensive. I know you dont like Drunk Elephant, but that is a brand I'll shell the money out for as its been one of the most effective lines for my skin. I actually bought a microneedling roller once, which was years ago & now I advise everyone against using them! I only used it like 2 or three times because SURPRISE, I got a bunch of new pimples after using it. Now, I see people in the haircare space recommending them for hair growth! I can't imagine all the things that could go wrong when you roll one of these on your scalp (especially when it's oily) Maybe you should make a scalpcare video with Manes By Mell?

Ms. Tung is using a lot of expensive, heavily fragranced products. For example, the Herbivore Pink Cloud Moisture Cream. The second ingredient is rosewater! That's not a moisturizing ingredient, it's a fragrance! I would guess she can afford these products, or gets them for free, but her skin would probably benefit from going back to the basics: cleanser, sunscreen, and moisturizer as needed. Although, as Cassandra pointed out, we really don't know what her skin looks like because of the filter applied to the video. Maybe she was fortunate enough to inherit good skin that isn't visibly bothered by fragrance. However, it's still best to avoid it because fragrance can cause long term damage to the skin.

You literally said in another video of yours that you only wash with water in the morning, so I’m extremely confused by your reaction to her not cleansing her face with any cleanser and telling us what Dr Dray thinks and recommends instead of telling us you don’t do it either. Or maybe you do now, but in that case, why not tell us that part of your routine changed and why it changed?i feel like that would be more coherent.
