We've 2 varieties here in Jamaica There's a BITTER one that's used to make bammies after all the juice as been squeezed out after it was grated and add was water and mix up. When the water is settled the remnant is d eg IED to produced starch The part which was squeezed out is dried and used to make bammies. So I believe it's th eg other variety you must be using to make the pone. Cassava is NOT what we do we make potato pudding/pone it's c ac lled pone by some areas

Yes like that brown at bottom ti near burn. Cant find a good pone maker since gran died all whita at bottom . Never made attempt to do it but will try wrote down ingredients and gran loved old fashion way use grater for everything

Recipe looks easier than some others I’ve seen. Will try this one. Also have you done it with cornmeal. Never made it but I buy the cornmeal one from a West Indian restaurant.

Tina that is the bitter cassava you use to starch your clothes . You can't eat that type of cassava it will poison you.
