Same here. Helps that two of them have two of the best tapes in the game, with one of them has arguably THE best tape in the entire game. As for the rest, two have solid tapes, one has a decent tape...and then you have Jesse. Im so sorry darling but Fungogh fucking sucks. And I say this as someone who romanced Jesse.

It's unfortunate that I see people here that peeled off all of the sidelined partner's stickers, or gave them random beasts. Because it was epic as heck seeing Echolocation + Wall at the start of the fight, and everyone got their own individual shields, with individual strats for each partner. Even if it was a fairly easy final boss. This game was one heck of a magical ride, for sure.

I *did* remove *some* of their good tapes (Decibelle was too useful to my strategy to leave on a benched Kayleigh, for example.) But! I accidentally stumbled on the ultimate work around which made the whole thing even *better* both mechanically AND thematically! --- Mind Meld connects *all* your allies in that fight. So even the characters who had "junk tapes" were making some shenanigans happen. I loved this so much, because it just feels appropriate, you know? A chorus coming together in perfect harmony. While only a select few of my tapes were sticker'd up with custom builds, those select few were all the AI needed to really make some magic happen. Walls, buffs (Especially AP Generation,) debuffs, damage, they had all the tools they need to feel like they'd achieved perfect synergy together. Shame that phase of the fight is so short-lived, I wanted to enjoy that longer!

I didn't have many stickers on the sidelined characters but I refuse to take there tapes away from them, even when trying to get the friendship up on different characters I'll just adjust to a whole new strategy rather then give them Kayleighs Decibelle! I'm heavily reliant on it normally but hell having to adjust just gives me an extra challenge

Through my whole playthrough I made a policy of never swapping the signature monsters off of my teammates. Seeing all six of them together - Decibelle, Robindam, Spitzfyre, Cat-5, Fungogh, and Regensea, plus my own Miasmodeus? Justified my decision on the spot.

After a few replays because I love this game, I’m here with a fun fact: the name of this song, arrow of time, is actually a reference to a dialogue with Kayleigh you can get at the beginning of the game in the Gramophone Cafe. She’ll say “the arrow of time moves only forward, kayleigh”, remembering something her dad used to tell her, and although for a moment she appears sad that she’ll never get to go back to her previous life, she is quick to tell the player something like “I guess it means that we only have so much time, and we should make the most of it! So then, where next?” I kinda love how the phrase is repurposed here :) (Edit: Rewording)

YES IKKKKK but when I played it I accidentally cheesed it… here’s how… Viola has a Spirroette (idk how to spell the name) who can learn gambit. This maxes every stat. Icicle dart uses attack and speed. Gumbaal-echolocation with custom starter Treat Viola- final gambit icicle dart. The boss died turn three :(

Mind meld utterly breaks that fight on a conceptual level if you know it's coming. Giving everyone the list of 56 moves - more if you use some +slot stickers - lets you do some *ludicrous* shenanigans. It's rad as hell for the climax boss, but the only way to make it remotely hard would be to give him a minimum number of his turns you have to survive, no matter how fast you deplete his HP.

Can you die in the first half? I think I may have found my new favourite song. Certainly my favourite final boss theme. The lyrics are surprisingly fatalistic for such an upbeat and triumphant song, but it makes total sense: we're never getting rid of the Archangels forever, so long as the concepts they embody remain in humans' minds, they're going to keep coming back over and over, and as his bio says, Aleph will eventually win one day when he returns. But it's still so hopeful, actively defying and rebelling against the inevitable even as it's admitting it can't be changed, which perfectly fits given who you invoke later in the fight. It's such a wild, wonderful ride pushing you on to finally rip that equilateral jackass a new one after being taunted by him the entire game while soaring through the space between worlds on a cosmic railway. An utterly phenomenal end to an utterly phenomenal game.

My only complaint is they didn't give the boss enough health in this phase so it was VERY easy to run into the fact it was scripted, if it had more health it would've helped the moment here be much better and the moment after be so much more impactful when you become as strong as you are. In context it would make sense to have a lot more health given fusion does combine health pools.

Apparently I used Eugene so little that he straight up didn’t show up for the final fight, which I found REAAAALLLYYYY funny since there was just an obvious gap where an extra person should have been. Anyway, this is one of the coolest Final Bosses I’ve seen in a game, even if it’s more of a spectacle than a proper fight (at least after the first half). I had already fallen in love with Cassette Beasts, and the whole final sequence propelled it from my Top 10 favorite games all the way to Top 2, along with Omori. And I honestly couldn’t say one is better than the other. Cassette Beasts definitely has better gameplay though (it’s not that Omori’s is bad, rather it’s that Cassette Beasts’ gameplay is absolutely STELLAR)

Anyone else played the Switch version recently and had the music stutter during the attacks? I thought it was intentional but apparently not. I thought it was going for "the bond of the team is so powerful that it is even breaking into reality" vibe.

Sounds like a bug in the Switch version; no such effect on PC.

@@soundspark From what I have seen of the PC version online, I'm jealous. It is probably not a bug but rather lag though. I just didn't really have the problem with music stuttering before this fight is all so it was surprising. Kinda hoping for more updates relating to performance for the Switch version soon but I still absolutely love the game and have currently been trying to get my siblings into it too!

When i did this fight, i put on my partners my main 6 members, so while not seeing them with their signature partners, seeing the team I fought tooth and nail with this entire time all in one squad was super epic

Most of my partners for this fight were unfortunately trash tapes (diveal lmao, unleveled spirouette) BUT Kayleigh had something I'd completely forgotten about Triphinx with two different critical mass moves On myself, I run Wyrmaw (with trap jaw, of course) So evasion nullified guaranteeing crits? Kayleigh's set made Aleph put his plot armor to use.

Boss died really fast but fun non the less, was temtping to add resonance to (fusion power of the ramtasiel and apocrowlypse) it for shts and giggles but didn't get the chance to put one in before it cut me off in the middle section.

The boss will heal back up to half health if you inflict a resonance overload, so that the scripted sequence plays out regardless.

This game was a much needed breath of fresh air from Pokémon scarlet/violet. It had a better story, Characters, and design of monsters. the final boss too puts S/V final boss to shame spoilers for both games oh in pokemon you defeated an ai thats with your pet dog thats cute I just defeated the incarnation of war on a train traveling (I think) In-between worlds with cassettes. all Im saying main protagonist from cassette beasts could floor S/V pokemon trainer 10 times over.
