I came here to see how the first fight was supposed to go. I wound up cheesing him when prismatic got him into astral type. I used Copper Chop to make him go berserk, Glitter Bomb, then Copper Chopped him until resonance took him out.

Can you still Play in the Same Game File?

Not sure if you got your answer, but yes. The game saves just before you leave. After the credits, it tells you that you can load back into the save file.
