Danny Boy He's saying mandatory political education, not mandatory voting. It's actually one of the first comments I've read on youtube and thought, "Fuck, that's a good idea!" I reckon it'd be a good idea to have it inset into standard curriculum along with Religious Studies. Only an hour or so a week for 14 - 16 year olds would teach them enough to have a basic understanding of how our country is run; thus developing their own views on it and not just copying family or peers.

Bleary Epoch Aye I get what you're on about but if it was to become a part of the national curriculum, we'd have teachers trained specifically to teach that subject and with a set curriculum to teach; hopefully dissipating any personal bias that teacher may have. To be quite honest as well, what you said about opening your mind up; that's what we should see of these teenagers and young adults. If they've had some sort of teaching (even with a possible bias,) then they'd hopefully have the interest to then look into it in greater detail and shape their own opinion.
