Watching this gives me the feeling of the old days, when the sport was pure and raw. Real men, real training. I wish I could be there.

Real training? Non of the sportsmen in those days could handle a one day pro athlete workout which is practiced today.

Well I would say they used what was made available to them and got optimum results. I train like em because I don't have access to a full Gym. For me if I train like them or like now, as long as it's consistent you can still be a great fighter

@@jerrylanglois7892 It depends what you mean. 'Pretty' is not the same as coordination. Ali was more unorthodox than Robinson and his movements were more eye catching but I think Robinson had better coordination.

I agree, we only saw a little of those body punches against cleveland williams in 66, did he do it because cleveland williams had suffered from a gunshot wound? maybe, maybe not, but he said NO in a afterfight interview with howard cosell in 66

I know people will get mad but. When it says cassius its not too disrespect Muhammad Ali by no means it just goes to show his greatness. Before he became Muslim And they bannedhim he Was different. Well known but just recognized as nothing but a fighter it's like he was different. He predicted his fights bragged something we never saw and will never ever see again. He didn't have so much pressure when he was still cassius clay. Then when he stood up for himself they took his title his livelihood. Every like he said win gold medal and still be treated bad I'm very grateful to ever even seen Muhammad Ali on tv. Just think someone stole his bike was one thing. But if you look at the big picture they stole something more. But he told them I'm muhammad Ali Muslim. They got mad and we never got to seehisfull potential. But Ali changed the world gave us hope and pride. Think about that when he was cassius white man didn't care. Ali he really did. Shook up the world. Peace

Training in Miami in a sweatsuit?! Must have lost 10 pounds a day! I've never seen a white speed bag. Ali was training for his second fight with Sonny Liston, scheduled for Nov. 1964 in Boston. The fight was postponed when Ali suffered a rupture and had to be operated on. That would have occurred just a few days after this film was shot. The rematch was eventually held in May 1965 in Lewiston, Maine. And we all know how that turned out!

The reason boxers usually stay away from weights is because they tend to make the muscles tight... and in throwing punches the muscles should be as elastic as possible.

@@jerrylanglois7892 Do they still stay away from weights? Even the heavyweights, who don't need to worry about weight classes?
@jonbathurst953
@jonbathurst953 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, weights are pretty bad for boxing. Most of the people saying it’s good are getting their info from kinesiologists in sports training - who know everything about the human body but absolutely nothing about boxing - which is one of the reasons boxing has been on a steady decline. You don’t see these throughbred, smooth as butter boxers anymore. All of them tight, stiff and predictable.

Moron learn to read i was never disputing what you said. I was simply going against the fact that his "real" name is Cassius Clay, while that was the name he was born with it isn't the one that he chose to identify himself with. I never argued against the fact that his name wasn't Cassius Clay at the time the video was filmed.
